it's a core exercise i found in men's health, in an article intitled "down to the core". i know for a fact that if an exercise is too easy, i'm not doing it right, or i need to use more weight, which isn't the case.
in the exercise, the way i understand it, you have to lie face up, knees bent, arms at your side. when you exhale, you lift your butt off the floor thightening your lower abs. lower yourself back after a few breaths while exhaling.
here's what i don't get. when i do this, no matter how hard i try, my legs seem to do more work. plus, it doesn't feel like my lower abs do any work.
what am i doing wrong? my abs are not so rock hard that they can just take my weight, so it's not that. what could be done wrong in general in this exercise?
like always, help is highly apreciated

So are you wondering how to make the exercise more difficult, or do you want something to hit your lower back more?

I think that's called a horse or something. Supermans are when you lie flat on your stomach with arms extended up/out, then arch your body with your lower back, glutes, and hams and bring your hands and feet as high up as possible. See crappy example here: Quasi-Supermans. I've always done them bringing all arms and legs up instead of opposing ones, but either will work, I suppose.
Edit: also called "lying back extensions"
