Lately, I have had a very strong interest in becoming a certified personal trainer. Will be retiring from my current career in next few years and have a desire to change life paths. I have been intersted in working out for the last 3-4 years now, and find that I enjoy the gym much more so than my job.

So...my question to all you cetified guys....how do I start? I have reviewed alot of websites, etc. But which is the best? NFPT? NSCA? ACE? etc. Too many for a novice to pick from. what is the recommendations from this forum?

I'm Canadian so I'm not sure how which American organization is good. I'd would probably ask your gym and other gyms what organization their creditials come from to the staff they hire.
That's what I did and took a course that gave me some direction. I passed the theory because I studied and have been working out my whole life. I think that just working as a personal trainer grows with making mistakes and experience. I'm just started and having a hard time deciding how to boost my confidence without having a person be the victim to my mistakes. Any advice from people here?
