well yesterday was the last day i was going to be in the gym until sometime next week. so i just put together a quick workout, heres what i did

squat 5x5
SLD 2x8

Bench Press 5x5
Dips 2x8

weighted pullups 5x5
Rows 2x8

this is prolly the best i've felt after a workout. i really enjoyed it...but my question is this...i figured that i prolly cannot do this workout 3 times week so i was wondering what were some other exercises i can do i where would be the best place to put them at/divide it up.

thanks in advance

That's a fairly broad question. What you're looking for is a routine, and that's relatively difficult to recommend since we don't have much info on you. What are your goals, for instance?

Here are some great pro-made routines. Maybe one of them will fit your requirements:

Homegrown Muscle (online)
Ripped, Rugged & Dense (online)
The Book of Muscle (in bookstores)
Ian King's Superstrength AND Limping (online)
Hypertrophy Specific Training (HST) (online)

Do some searches and see what you think!

yeah i guess i wasn't really clear in my last post..currently i'm 6'1" 192 lbs and about 9% body fat. i've been training regularly for over 3 years.i'm not really looking for a routine just some ideas of other exercises that would go well with the ones i had posted.something to balance it out a lil more..

i hope this clears things up a bit..if not just let me know

Well, you're missing shoulder work and ab work for starters.

And 5x5 for squats, bench and weighted chins IN ADDITION to the other stuff seems like a lot. If you're really lifting to your max potential on each lift, then by the end I would think you're going to be missing out because of the overload.

Could you break things down, like
MON
Bench
Rows
Shoulder Press

WED
Squats
SL Deads
Lunges

FRI
Chins
Dips
Abs

Or something like that? Then you could do 5x5 for ALL of them, and have full energy for each. Just a thought.

I will offer a different opinion. I like the workout as you did it, except for the 5x5 on the three different lifts. If you wanted to do it 3 times per week, I would pick only one of the lifts for 5x5 each day.

I am actually going to switch to something similar in a couple of weeks, except I will have an A and a B workout. I will also add push press to one of them, and power cleans to the other, for a total of 7 different lifts each routine.

As far as direct shoulder work goes, with the lifts you chose you are actually hitting your shoulders pretty good.

Just my thoughts.
