I'm really looking forward to meeting you next month at JP's.
You had asked in a previous thread if we had any suggestions or topics. I'll bet we can come up with a ton, especially now that reality's starting to really set in the closer it gets.
Will you be presenting or conducting more of a hands on/audience participation session with us? Or, both?
I don't know how this fits into any of your plans, but I'd like to know how to safely do some lifts that are often considered core to a program. For instance, I"m told how easy cleans are to do, you don't have to be perfect, etc. But, whenever I even try them, my elbow hurts the next day.
Front squats are another. I can't get my elbows up there, my wrists back, etc. Maybe these things aren't the important part of the lifts, but if I can't do them at all, I can't get the actual LIFTING benefits.
There are lifts that look simple and easy on paper, but people try them, give up 2 reps in, and move back to the same lift they did last month, instead. Front squats, cleans, jump shrugs, power this, hang that, etc.

I'm not going, but in his interview with Mike Robertson Alwyn said: [ QUOTE ]
No one is integrating mobility, stability, strength, power and endurance work real well yet. I have some thoughts on how to do that.
[/ QUOTE ] That sounds like a fascinating subject to go further into.

In the afternoon we can maybe do some practical stuff and then do a roundtable with Lou, Bill and myself?

Do I speak for all of us who cannot make it to the retreat, that this has to be the most depressing thread ever?

Fine, we won't all post from JP's house on Saturday night telling you all how wonderful it was.
Re: Retreat \'06 Suggestions for Hosts and Presenters
I do hope you'll all have enough fun not have time to post on the forum that weekend I've seen one GTs where the Chatters met at an Internet Coffee place and spent more time online than with the people whom they had gone to meet!
I don't think it will happen with you guys but I'm sure you'll make up for it the year after lol
Re: Retreat \'06 Suggestions for Hosts and Presenters
The best part is Lou has been reading the forum and the one post that prompts him to make an appearance as Temp_Lou is a suggestion that everyone gets big chairs.
