Thanks, GqArtguy. The "Magnificent Mobility" DVD that Eric Cressey has co-authored seems to be a useful resource. I wonder if anyone here has used it, and what his/her opinions are about it.

I have the "Magnificent Mobility" DVD and have found it to be very useful. There are (going from memory here) about 30 different movements and they go through and show you what muscles are targeted with the movement and also go over common problems with the movement. Very well done, I would recommend it to anyone. I personally try to use about 5-8 of the movements before every workout.

From the image of the cover of the DVD I recognize some exercises that are also presented in the "Core Performance" book by Mark Verstegen, as part of the "Movement Prep" phase of the workouts. Other exercises portrayed in the cover are used in the "Linear Warm-ups" featured in the "Functional Training for Sports" book by Mike Boyle. It seems that the DVD follows an approach similar to those of the books I mentioned; however, if, as Oxy says, the DVD does present a more detailed rationale (which was brief in the books), then it must certainly be a very valuable resource.

I've got it ordered, shipping just takes a fair while to get here. They say 2-3 weeks, but can take up to 6.

Checked out the website, looks good. Got links to all his online articles, great for people like me who havnt read his stuff outside of t-nation. His online coaching service sounds interesting. Not sure I'll be able to justify the cost, but its tempting. He covers a lot of bases with it, not just giving a routine.

I have Eric's DVD (produced with Mike Robertson) ordered and awaiting delivery. Takes 4-6 weeks to get to the UK.

Even before reading the reviews of the DVD I knew I would be placing an order based mainly on the quality of Eric and Mike's many articles (links to all of Mike's articles can be found on his website at www.robertsontrainingsystems.c om) and their tremendous efforts in answering questions in the t-nation locker rooms.

Having benefitted from Eric and Mike's articles in a my own physical development and enhancing my knowledge through their's, ordering the DVD seemed to me to be a small token of my appreciation and was the least I could do. It is also the same reason I have books and video's by Ian King, books by Lou Schuler and Alwyn Cosgrove and material from John Berardi.

I just got the DVD last night. I'm planning on going through it this weekend!

From what I hear, it's got a great section of improving mobility for squats and DLs. My weak points. Well, two of them anyway.

I've watched through it now. It has a few of the same movements as the movement prep section from Core Performance, but a lot of different stuff also. Its designed not only for warmup/mobility, but also to groove patterns for lifting. I need to go through again, try them out, work out which ones will benefit me the most/etc.

Far and away the biggest advantage of this is the detailed info on the movments. The demonstrations are shot from 2 angles (split screen) so it makes it really easy to see how the moves are done. They're explained in detail, and they point out the most common errors people make while doing them. Easily the closest thing you'll get to working hands on with these guys.

Big thumbs up for the DVD.
