What should I do workout wise to get rid of the unwanted obliques. My diet is fine and I run plenty of cardio. What exercises should I perform to minimize the fat in this area and how often should I do them?

Fats fat. It comes off through a calorie deficient diet. Theres no way to spot reduce it. Unfortunately for males the fat around the waist is often the last to move, its just a matter of keep losing fat till it goes.

You dont mention weight training, try to add that in there. Cardio is all well and good, but generally speaking cardio burns fat while you're exercising, weight training increases your metabolism which burns more fat all of the time.
