So, most of you guys have now finnished the S2B program, now, I'm just curious to know how every one has done. What was your beginning weight and your end weight. Did you put on the amount of muscle that you thought you would. Were your strength gains good. And now the big question what are you going to do with all this weight that you have put on. How are you going to get it off without losing that hard earned muscle.

Personally I'm not quite done yet, I'm at the tail end of phase III. I started at 154 and I'm at 170 - 172. I'm very impressed about that, although I snore like a SOB. lol
I'm definately stronger on my legs. I can probably carry an ox on my back ( umm... yeah ok maybe not......... just yet, maybe after phase III is done. ) Upper body though, is lacking large. My bench press sucks I can't get past 180 for 2 reps and I can't even do it by my self. I need a spotter. Then there are the pull ups It's such a challenge to do these with just body weight I don't know how some of you guys can actually think of adding well over 20 pounds to your BW. Yikes. I envy that especially Rob you must have some set of pipes on you. I WANT PIPES. waaa.... waaa....

....also.... how long did your workouts last during your Phase III I think mine are a little long or I could be wrong.

I haven't posted all that much but here goes, I'm also at the tail end of phase three (just two more workouts), s2b has been decent so far I've finally made some weight gains I started at 150 and am now 165 (my goal was 175) I've also noticed good muscle gain on my thighs and upper back. But no gains in my arms or chest, and my abs are history. I’m kind of at a loss as to how I’m going to lose the weight I’ve put on around my midsection and still keep my gains.
I have improved my strength quite a bit my squat, clean, and dead lifts have all gone up dramatically and I’ve added 25 lbs to my bench press.

I didn't keep to the diet well enough and ended up with a pretty good fat gain. I've got a week to go but the results are not nearly as good as I would have liked.

The diet lacked for me and I gained 10LBS from the program. My strength went up dramaticly.

There is no doubt in my mind that the program works if you stick to the diet, I just didnt have enough dedication to do it.

I'm having trouble sticking to the diet too. I just can't seem to get into a rhythm and the diet is such a drastic change of pace to what I'm used to. JB and MM should make another book with more info on the diet and diet regimenting with more meal ideas (gourmet nutrition is not enough!).

I don't think another book is the answer. In terms of the meals, the book provides a blueprint. Something like Gourmet Nutrition then allows you pick a varied meal that fits in with your needs.

What it pretty much comes down to is how dedicated you are & how bad you want it.

I went from 160 to 171 in the first three phases with great size and strength gains. I then cut back the calories for phase 4 and quickly dropped 5 pounds but kept enough of the size I gained to make me happy. The program was absolutely fantastic for me and I really enjoyed it.

I'm now doing the CrossFit thing and struggling not to puke on a daily basis

I'm rehabbing from and injury sustained during deadlifts in Phase III...but I still like the program. My weight went from 170-178 with minimal to no body fat gain at all. (I still have about the same amount of fat around my mid section as when I started) But that's to be expected at the very least.

I had huge strength gains +45 bench +70 squat +50 deads. Sucks that I hurt my low back. Workoutus Interuptus!

UpNorth and the others who've completed - At the end of Phase IV is the midsection fat still present or do you all have 6 packs that'd make anyone who hasnt done the program jealous?

If it is still present, it raises up the question of how to chisel that region without losing too much of the gains. Stabilizing the caloric intake sounds like a good start, but i'd be glad to hear some input from those who have been there!

I ended up with a six pack. Although I reduced the recommended calories for the last phase and quickly dropped 5 pounds (re-revealing my abs). To be honest I don't think I put on too much fat, maybe 1% or 2%, but it was enough to hide the six-pack I had at the start of the program. Having said that I'm not sure I would have seen the same gains if I didn't eat like a pig all day, every day for almost 3 months.

If you've never done anything like this (big lifting, big eating) like I hadn't, I would recommend just doing it as prescribed. I was very surprised to learn how much I could eat and not gain fat when I was eating the right foods at the right times.

I started the program at 135-140. Today, I stand at 154-156. I'm definitely stronger and 'thicker' in the chest, but I started gaining weight around my middle--so I trimmed down the food intake and increased the weights. I'm sold on the program!

I JUST finished phase 2 and have already went from 153 to 170 pounds in weight, with very minimal fat gain. Hopefully I can rach my goal of 185 by the end of the program.

I did the first 3 phases this past fall, and I was up to 172 lbs from my normal 165 (5'8" tall, small framed). I measured a 2% bf gain from 6-7 to 9-10%.

Like others, my strength went up, I added about 40 lbs to my squat (not 40 to my max, but 40 lbs more from what I was currently squatting for 5 reps using the StB 5X5 phase). I also went up to my personal best incline press, adding 20 lbs to a "massive" 175 lbs.

So why did I quit? I could blame school, work, and life schedule, but to be honest, I failed to plan my nutrition adequately. I skipped pre-cooking meals and then I would go for 5 hours of class and grab some crap and then off to work. I was just lazy.

This semester is over now and I have a break to try to get back on track.

I went from 175 to 185, but with some fat in the midsection. It was hard to follow the diet just did the best I could. Maybe thats why I got the extra fat.

My correction phase was only about 2 weeks long. I didn't have any inbalances to correct so I made it pretty short to just get my muscles geared up and ready. I'm having a hell of a time with finding the correct weight to use for the workouts in phase 3. My 1 rep max weight on pull ups is 50lbs, plus my body weight, and I find it extremely hard to work out with 85-105% of that for the two waves. Same with the box squat. My 1 rep max is around 300lbs, and working out with a high percentage of that weight is not cutting it. I end up squating down to the box and just sitting on it...hollaring at my workout partner to get the weight off. My hang snatch is all messed up. I'll have my trainer check out my form to see whats wrong when he gets back from xmas break. Going from never having done the snatch before to trying to workout with near max weights is pretty crazy. How are you guys doing with that?

I loved the hang snatch it does take a little getting used to but wow what a rush once you get it. If you are insure of the movements run a search in google for "hang snatch video" I tried to find one for you but the ones I found were actually done a little sloppy I thought, these guys aren't standing on their toes as they raise the bar up like you're supposed to.

baby muscles- i think i found a half descent video of the hang snatch.

let me know what you think of it

http://www.fitrex.com/fitness_info/exercise172.html

ps you kinda have to slow motion it manually to see the full movement. otherwise it moves too quickly to get a good look at it
