Im probably making a bigger deal of this than its worth, but in Phase 3 we are supposed to take off 2 full days between workouts. This week im working out on Monday, then probably on Thursday, but the next time i would be able to get back to the gym would be tuesday. This is because i have to work all day saturday, then the gym is closed on sunday and monday (labor day). So my two options are:

1) lift monday/wednesday/friday, the book says they dont want you lifting every other day to give you cns time to recover.
2) lift monday/thursday/tuesday. 4 full days off, normally i would be fine with it, but i just took i little more than a week off about a week and a half ago.

Im worrying about this more than i need to, but what do you think?

I have done agressive programs like this on a M/W/F schedule. I, too, am starting Phase III and will try it M/W/F and see how I feel. It is simply a matter of getting the workout in as a Sunday workout is just not going to work for me.

The book specified that you MAY have to take 2 days off...it didn't require it. Or at least that's the way I read it. I'm gonna do a M/W/F myself if it feels okay...

Actually the book says that you are supposed to take 2 full days off in between workouts. It says Phase 3 should last 34 days instead of 28 for the other phases. Im still going to do it M/W/F this week cause thats the only times i can get it in.

I went back and checked...and I was right.....if you read the paragraph at the top of page 124 it says you "MAY" have to take 2 full days and ahows what an example workout "MIGHT" look like...

2 days of rest are not dictated there.

wow. I'm not right often.

basking basking basking...

its cool, the book just really isnt very consistent here...lower on page 124 it says:

"..in this phase, you'll be training every third day in an effort to ensure adequate nervous system recovery."

I do see where it says you "may" take 2 full days at the top of the page though. Ive been taking 2 full days on some days, 1 full day on some other days. Sometimes i dont get a choice as my gym is closed on Sundays.

Yes, I see what you mean AS...it is a bit confusing on this point.

I guess I'll stop basking. Curses foiled again.

And I can sure see how that 2 days would be benefitial. Some of these moves are new to me and very challenging. Glad to be facing a weekend of rest after my Friday morning workout.

I recomend taking a full two days off. I thought I could do the M/W/F routine also but as you can see if you look at my log, I crashed and burned. Really I was completely out of it. I suggest taking 2 days of rest.

I read it the same as you did Jimbo and got up on Wednesday to go workout and realized very quickly that I was wiped. Instead I did workout B this morning and was back in action.

I think if you really try to do heavy weights MWF is going to wipe you out.

I have been doing Phase III for three weeks now, with very respectable weights and have not experienced any problems with a M/W/F set up. I have always experienced quick recovery which is unusual for my age, but, so far, no ill effects.

Well...I have a pulled muscle. ..but other than that...I was doing fine. Felt great from a CNS standpoint. Lots of energy and making great gains. I hate that I pulled something. I don't believe that pulling the muscle had anything to do with my workout frequency....hard to say...I felt great up till then.. Just doing HIIT this week.

I am also doing the M/W/F split as it allows me to be most consistent

I pretty much took 2 days off between workouts in Phase 3 until the last week. I just felt like i needed it. Now in Phase 4 and lifting 4 days per week seems like a lot now, even though i pretty much lifted 4 days per week before S2B.
