I'd like to preface this with saying my gym is free, and its attached to my condo complex. So this is very, very convenient for me, and probably one of my motivations for going...

With that said, my gym has no barbells, but plenty of dumbells.

So I have a few qustions regarding the S2B Workout, almost all of them being dumbell/barbell related:

1. Can I do the Barbell front squat with 2 dumbells instead?
2. The close grip bench with 2 dumbells?
3. The hang Clean and press with 2 dumbells?
4. I need an alternative exercise for the cable pull throughs - can i use 2 dumbells in the same motion? or?
5. For the Elevated Trap Bar deadlifts, can I use dumbells?
6. I need an alternative to dips? Can i put a weight in my lap and do reverse pushups?
7. Are lat pulldowns an acceptable substitute for Cable rows?

Please refrain from telling me to get a new gym, i'd like to avoid that if possible,

Thanks in advance!

try to convince the other gym users to buy a couple of barbell sets together?

anyway:
1. I guess you could, but it will be hard on the shoulders
2. sure why not, just keep the DB's as close as possible at all times
3.yes
4. try glute ham raises or any other exercise that that involves hip and lower back
5. yes, but you probably need heavy dumbells then
6. these are reverse pushups : http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/...SupineRow.html
they work the back. you could do this or any other chest exercise : http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/...tBenchDip.html
7. no, but you can do bent-over row with dumbells or reverse pushups to substitute for the cable row

I'm in almost exactly the same position. The answer to questions 1,2,3, and 5 are yes. Dumbells will work fine. As for question 6 I've recently started using the handles on the treadmill as a dip bar. They are sturdy and have worked well.

Another tip. If your dumbells don't have enough weight you can vary you rest and reps to give you more of a work out. You can make all this work you just have to be a little more creative than the next guy.

1. Can I do the Barbell front squat with 2 dumbells instead?

Hoist them onto your shoulders, if you can.

2. The close grip bench with 2 dumbells?

Yes. Hold them so your palms are facing each other the entire time.

4. I need an alternative exercise for the cable pull throughs - can i use 2 dumbells in the same motion? or?

RDLs?

6. I need an alternative to dips? Can i put a weight in my lap and do reverse pushups?

I think you're referring the chair dips. Try to do them with your feet elevated onto another chair or bench to increase the difficulty.

I need three alternates for these exercises, or some creative ways to do them without the equipment that I haven't thought of:
Elevated Trap Bar Deadlift
Cable Rows
Reverse Hypers

All I've got is home equipment, a bench, barbells, etc., and I can't afford to join a gym so that is out. Anyone have any suggestions?
