Hey all, this place seems very informative so i decided to post. Would HGM be a good work out for me? Im 5'8 about 190 lbs, and would like to lose alot of weight and gain muscle. I havent been fit for 8 years and decided that now is the time to change my lifestyle. I stopped smoking, and will heavily cut down on alcohol consumption. I dont have access to a gym, but will be borrowing a weight bench and weights. Ive already started changing the way I eat, based on Adam's diet and the Ab's diet. Ive started walking for 30 min. every other day and would like a few tips to how I can eventually run a 6-7min mile run. Also I would really like to get rid of these man tits and beer belly. Can HGM help me out or should I try another workout. Thanks for the help.
I'm on it right now, so can't say much about it since it's been less then a week, but I do feel some muscle soreness so it does build some muscle as well as burn fat. And I know I'm burning fat cause the damn thing makes me sweat like a fountain.

Thanks for the reply Ben, I was wondering if I should stick to HGM religiously, or can I add a few exercises, like more ab work on the workout days...
I would stick to it religiously. The program is very solid and well rounded, and more ab work would be a waste of energy for what you're trying to do. Crunches and such won't do anything to take away your belly. Focus on more intense excercise (like HGM and cardio) instead.
Good luck, and congratulations on making an awesome, life changing decision!

I did HGM through 5 stages. It is a really good program. Particularly, the first phase, which lasts 8 weeks, is great for fat loss. It was my favorite phase of the 5. Don't worry about adding any exercises. Do it as designed, and add some cardio on off days as you wish. Do interval style cardio, rather than long, steady state work.
However, Alwyn's workout in Men's Fitness, which Bo noted, would also be outstanding. You could do one program (HGM phase 1) and then the other (Alwyn's), or vice versa. That would keep you busy for three or four months!
