Hello! I am a 25 year old single mother with a 3 month old. I gained 55 pounds during my pregnancy and I have lost 30 pounds so far. I ate very well and walked daily during pregnancy. I am currently doing The Formula: 40.30.30 eating program (which I was doing before I got pregnant)and I try to walk 3-4x a week. My question is: I want to start lifting weights, but I am afraid of getting bulky. How do I do this? Is it lighter weights and more reps or the other way around? I also did Body-For-Life (for about 6 weeks) two years ago and noticed results, but then I stopped. Thank You for your help!!
in that article, there's a woman that lifts heavy and hard and in no way does she look like the governor of california in a skirt...

Your size (bulkiness) has much more to do with how much you eat. So if you work out consistently but don't increase your food intake very drastically, then you're not going to swell up.
Actually, even if you ate a lot of food you still probably wouldn't get to to bulky as long as you had decent calorie expenditure. The bulkiness in females that bodybuild or males is more attributed to the hormone testosterone from either hormonal help or what the body makes. Females naturally don't make a whole lot of T. Lift hard and heavy!
