From what i understand with Ripped Rugged and Dense, the whole goal is to not build up a "lactic acid swimming pool" in your muscles by doing lots of reps.

However, i've been reading some into things and if i'm not mistaken muscle endurance comes from lots of high rep excersises.

So what i need to know is if i can gain more muscle endurance while on RRD and how?

Will you gain muscular endurance with low rep stuff? Probably not.

Why are you trying to get muscular endurance? And why did you pick RRD?

'Why did you pick RRD'
From what i've seen, everyone said RRD was a great plan, its short, and simple, which is great for me because i don't always have a lot of time to hit the gym.

'Why are you trying to get muscular endurance?'
I'm pretty young, i figured it would be good to be well rounded. Also I took up surfing over summer and it would help a lot with paddling out.

Mark, RR&D isn't really designed to help endurance sports. That's cool that you're trying to keep a balance in your training, but I'll tell you it's not easy to gain muscle size, strength and endurance at the same time. There are many factors in each that somewhat limit the others. It's not impossible, mind you, but it slows things up.

In particular, at 130 lbs., and training to gain muscle size (which I think is a good idea), thorough endurance training is going to contradict your efforts. The type of muscle fibers worked for each is different. The classic example : look at marathon runners, then look at sprinters. Which one is skinny, which one has muscle?

I don't know anything about surfing, so I don't know how much endurance you need to paddle out. I'll bet, though, that RR&D will give you the strength to improve your surfing anyway.

It's a matter of priorities, really. If you want to gain muscle size, then concentrate on eating more and a routine like RR&D. If you want ednurance specifically, then another routine would probably be better.

Do you play any team sports? That might be good cross-training.

Check out HIIT. This might help keep the fat off, while letting you work on cardio and running speed. It also won't counteract your size gains.

Hopefully Danny will chime in again to help you.
