Hi, im new here. Im 16 and have been lifting for a year and a half now. Im wondering if lifting could make me snappy, like easily pissed off. My sophmore year(im a jr. now) i was always mad, i was lifting 3 times a week for about 2 1/2 hours each time. I slep decent but nothing great. could the lifting have led to this or would you think it was a lack of sleep? Right now i havent lifted in a week or so and i feel great. Any thoughts on this? Also where can i find a routine to follow, someone here mentioned a 12 week one? Id like to bulk up.

If you're lifting for 2 1/2 hrs each time, and not getting plenty of sleep, then you're gonna be tired. When I'm tired I get shitty.

Take a look at the faq forum, theres a workouts thread there. Find one that looks like it suits your goals and follow it. Most of them will have you in and out of the gym within an hour and add some quality sleep on top of that and you should both feel better and get better results.

It shouldn't make you act like a jerk unless you are taking vitamin "S". It could be lack of sleep, or just being 16 and hormonal. In fact, if you are going through some moodiness, weight lifting is probably making you a lot more tolerable.

I think the good'ol teenage hormones might have something to do with your mood swings. It's happened to us all.

try the first thread in the fitness faq for some workout routines.
