Thumbs up

Well, it's been almost two months since my boys and I started the TAP program. It's been a lot of fun and we've been enjoying our workout times immensely.

Although the main idea was to get the boys into a habit of working out and eating clean, the old man has enjoyed some nice benefits, as well.

At 6' 0", 43 years, I have gone from 187 lbs. down to 175 lbs. Haven't seen that in years!! My waist has gone from a 36 to a 34. I'm not a hulk by any means, but I have noticed increases in my shoulders and chest, and my arms and legs are much more defined.

My oldest has been shaving off the pounds and increasing his strength and the little guy is getting really defined. He loves popping out his mini-sixpack!

We're finishing up Phase III and, after a week or so off, we may just start up and go through the whole program one more time for the summer. Then, we'll be on the inexhaustable quest for newer and more challenging work outs.

Just thought I'd share this news with the gang here. And to say "Thanks" to Lou for a great program and "Thanks" to JP for such a great forum.

Live, Love, Lift and Laugh,

Nick

That's great!

Whenever I see a Dad and son at the gym it makes me happy.

TAP is a great program to follow from a diet perspective. Good for you making it a family thing!

That's great Dad-o-2 - and although you had great success with this program, I'd suggest moving to another one next. What about Turbulence Training? Keep it new!

Good luck!

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone!

This is one of the reasons I like this forum so much. That, and the fact you get a lot of good advice!!

So how old are your two sons?

I've always wondered what a good age was to start weight training.

My eldest is 15. The younger one is 11.

I'm being very careful not to have the younger one lift heavy. At this point, I'm making sure they both develop good form and get used to the idea of working out on a consistent basis.

That is great to hear that you and your sons are getting in shape together. I wish I could convince my old man to work out and eat better. I am getting to him a little, but still...

Anyways, congrats on the progress and keep it up!

Amazing progress. Keep up the good work. And I am so glad to hear that you lift with your sons. They must be proud of their dad.

Well, I hope so. One thing's for sure, I am VERY proud of them! In this age of video games and dvd's and computers, it gets harder and harder to keep kids active.

Now, if I can just convince my wife that this program would work for her too!

Dad of Two....it's great how you are working out with your two sons. Must be real exciting for you to see them grow and mature, in a happy and healthy way. Keep it up.

My son is 7. He wants to work out with me all the time. I have to keep telling him that he has to wait a few more years, until he is big enough. But....he does walk/run with me and we do have very hard workouts on the playgrounds.

You are blessed to have such wonderful kids!

As a dad of two (boy and girl), that's really neat. Nice to hear about it. My own kids grew up doing taekwondo with me. Special times, and great benefits.
