Hey guys,

I've been following for about 2 months what basically amounts to an upper body/lower body split, and I'm dissatisfied with my results. I think I could be doing better, both in gaining weight, and putting up bigger numbers.

Now I'm looking at full body routines, as I remember when I first started getting into lifting not too long ago, I had my best results when I came home from school everyday and benched. That's it. I didn't even know what recovery time was. And in a relatively short period of time, my bench gained a lot of weight. I'm thinking I could do this for all of my lifts. Here's what I'm considering:

Workout on M,T,T,F, each day benching, rowing, squatting, deadlifting and maybe preforming an olympic lift. Keeping the routine full of big, compound lifts, and alternating isolation work like curls and leg extensions.

Any advice on how to suceed with a full body routine? I'm going for strength and size.

First of all great that you are going with the basic compound lifts. Those are the best. However, I think that doing these 5 days in a row are going to do more negative than good. Look at a professionally written program like Home Grown Muscle. A lot of people have had success doing this and it only requires 3 days of total body workouts. You have to give your muscles time to recover.

The article discusses the transition from beginner - where you can lift every day - to experienced lifter where more factors are involved.

I think the reason you gained a lot in your bench when you first started lifting is cus that is basiclly what happends to everyone...its called newbie gains.

Anyways, if you wanna do a full body routine look into HST. This program does 3 full body workouts a week focuing on compound lifts. You can find a link to it in the "fitness faq" section in a thread titled "workout programs".
