So i've been dating this girl, and we see each other quite a bit, and I was wondering if too much....

just kidding!

I've been thinking of doing a CW style routine next, 8x3 or something along those lines. I'm not sure what the typical set parameters are for oly lifts. Is 8 sets at 3 reps each too much volume for a snatch?

Eh I prefer doubles, but do triples when warming up.

The parameters are going to be based on your overall weekly volume. If you have 2-3 snatches, your volume will be lower in each session than if you were to only have 1 session. This is definately a lift where you have to think in terms of movement and overall volume, because its useless to even break it down to leg day and upper body day since the lifts work the entire body.

If youre new to the lifts, you want to do them very often and with moderate volume to drill the form down. As far as knowing whether youre doing them correctly, well...get a coach or post some vids.

Gq: I was going to do them once a week as part of a 4 day a week split. I was thinking something like this (each workout, 8x3, plus some abdominal work at the end):

Workout A
a1) Snatch
a2) Flat Bench

Workout B
a1) Back Squat
a2) Weighted Pullups

Workout C
a1) Deadlift
a2) Shoulder Press

Workout D
a1) Front Squat OR Hack Squat
a2) Seated Row OR Bent-over Row

It would be a Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri thing.

Looks nifty because youll be able to train pretty frequently. Whats the goal here?

I think triples are just fine, as long as your form isn't breaking down. If you have enough weight on there that you can feel your technique getting iffy than just go for 2.

But I would get Dos or Alwyn's opinion on this matter. Good luck
