In exercissing calfs (basic calf raises with no weight)is doing calf exercisses too much, and over training it or no?

and what other exercises do you do for your lower body (reps and sets too)?

I do untill it untill starts to really burn and i cant do it any more... Im currently in season so my lower body training is the running we do for the team. I normally squat and do all that stuff. But i am looking for ways to keep some of my strenth maintained and i was wondering about this

Calf raises aren't going to do anything for your quads and hams, and are the 3rd most important muscle in your legs. I would suggest some maintainance work on the hams and quads instead.

Squats...Big ass heavy squats, going deep and with good form.

Deadlifting is also great.
