Hi guys - I just made the switch from the Mens Health forum - one too many problems, and too many desertions by strong contributors. (So hello to all of those guys who have landed here!)

I'll be 41 next month, I own and operate a small investment banking firm, I'm married (no children) and live in Atlanta. I am interested in using weight training to maintain my overall fitness, add muscle mass and definition, and to enhance my physical appearance. I've been back lifting for about 20 months and completed HomeGrown Muscle in June (it's a 12-month program written by Mike Mejia). I'm doing Joel Marion's Maximal Muscle Growth program currently (about 4 weeks in).

Again, hello to everyone and I'm looking forward to learning and interacting with you.

Welcome Austintwo! Seems to be quite a surge of people coming over here right now. Glad to have you and I hope that you find the content and tenor of the site to be satisfactory.

How were your results on the HGM? You may want to check out the diet and nutrition forum as well.

Thanks again for coming. Looking forward to your participation in here.

Thanks for the welcome JP!

My results for HGM were really good. I don't have the desire to eat the amounts necessary to gain significant size (somewhat contradictory to my goal of improved muscle mass, I know), but I made some size gains, especially in phases 8-10.

The program was extremely educational for me, as I learned a lot of new exercises and training styles.

I think a lot of guys who have lifted weights before think they know more than they do about training, and I was definitely one of those types - I always thought results were directly and simply correlated to how hard you worked and how long. So the learning aspect of the program was probably equally important for me to the physical aspect.
