I'm 16 and I just started lifting weigths about a month ago. I still think that i'm not doing the right exercises to work on my chest. Everytime i start working out on my chest, i feel like my arms are doing everything, even tho when i touch my pects i can feel them contracting and getting hard as i lift. What do I need to do to feel pain in my chest rather than my arms. Also, I worked out yesterday but today I feel minor if not no soarness. This is surprising because I spent about 30 min on my chest and about the same on biceps, back, etc. What is happening?

Patience grasshopper.

The first time you attempted to ride a bike (or any new activity), did you just take off riding or did you go through a process of learning?

You're just going through the initial phase of training where the body is learning the exercises. As you continue to train and get more proficient, your ability to recruit the specific muscles you're trying to train will improve.

Soreness is not a perfect guide to a successful workout. Strive to perfect your technique. Heavier weights and muscle will come.

Your arms and aterior (front) deltoid assist the chest in pressing motions and since they are smaller muscles, they will tire faster than your chest even though, your chest is doing most of thw woek. That's why you feel the exercise so much in your arms. Rest assured though, if you are using proper form, your chest is being worked and as you get more used to the exercise, you will become more in tune with your muscles and be able to better feel your chest contractions even when your arms are burning.
