The ones I have are pretty soft (but not chewy - they hold together though), but then again I think I could have flattened them out a bit more for baking.

Sorry for asking a dumb question (i'm a baking newb) but will flattening them out make them more chewy?

It will probably do the opposite. Since the cookies will be thinner, they'll take less time to bake. I was just afraid of mine being underdone which which is why I was thinking about flattening them a bit more.

Tried these tonight. Okay.... I think I need to add some water to the mix. Mine were pretty dry. Not burnt, but dry.

What about ground flax seed? Would that be a good add-in to the cookies?

Lost Dog must have had Oompa Loompas helping make his cookies--I don't know how he got 30 out of the batter. I tried them tonight. My 4 year old rejected them--not a surprise they weren't shaped like Scooby Doo or Spongebob. I liked them--I put 2 in a bowl and put smooshed raspberries on top.

I made a double batch of these, baked for 15 minutes.
SO good. The worst thing about these cookies is you can't stop eating them. They do crumble/break easily. "Oops, broken one. Guess I have to eat it. OOOPS another one...[/em nom nom nom]"

1 cup natural peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)

This one will even impress mister Johnka!
