I'm a little ticked that they stacked the Syracuse bracket like that. As soon as the top seeds were announced, I figured UNC and KU would be on the same side, thus taking away one of my potential Final Four teams. But to put UConn in there as well? Ok, that makes three of my FF teams.
BK- I'll have a decent projection deciphered by 8 CT, and I'll be back if you want some help.

i'm just disappointed in my Irish for losing to rutgers (i know, i know, rutgers uggghhh ) and thus, playin themselves out of the tourney. i think that they had a chance to go pretty far and win a few upsets but o well.

Ninjaboookey,
I'll be looking for your picks. I need all the help I can get.
I've penciled in the 1 & 2 seeds as winners in the first round, but that's as far as I've gotten. Some observations/initial impressions.
Illinois Region - I'm not big on the Illinois bandwagon. Arkansas could have easily beaten them this year if they could have hit some free throws. Having said that, I don't see anyone beating them until they get to the final eight. I like Oklahoma State in that bracket. Arizona has always let me down when I went with them.
Washington Region - I know little or nothing about most of the teams in this bracket. Left to my own devises I'd go with Wake Forrest.
N. Carolina Region - I've been impressed with Florida. I think I'd run with the Gators for a long time. This looks like the toughest bracket to me. N. Carolina is going to be hard to beat.
Duke Region - Somebody please beat Oklahoma. My neighbor's an obnoxious Sooner fan. I'm not sure Duke has the horses this year, but they look like they have a fairly easy road to the elite eight.
Make sure you're in a comfortable chair, this may take a while.
Chicago Region- I think that Illinois and OSU will meet in the final. The top four should all make the S16, although Arizona may have trouble with LSU. My only upset is UW-Mil over Alabama, because there's always a 12 over a 5 every year and Alabama hasn't impressed me. I do have St. Mary's winning, but that's just a 10 over a 7.
Albuquerque- I don't think that this region is deep, but there are a lot of teams that can win it. Once again, no real upsets here, except for Creighton over WVa. Washington should make it to the S16 easily, but I'm torn between the Louisville and Ga Tech as possible opponents. Granted, the Yellow Jackets are playing as well as they were projected to, but it seems that everyone will get on their bandwagon, and when that happens, it usually spells trouble. I think Gonzaga will topple Wake Forest, because I'm not sold on the Deacs' inside presences. This is finally the year that Gonzaga gets to the F4.
Syracuse Region- Where the hell do I begin. This ruined my projections. First, the top 3 teams could all be top seeds (I thought so) and are all F4 worthy. (Thought so again)I'm partial to Kansas, because I picked them to go undefeated and win the national champion. Now, they have one hell of a draw to get there. As the season wore on, I thought UConn would be a nice national champion pick. However, KU and UConn meet in the S16. I have no idea what to think on that game, and that is what is holding my bracket up. I do think that winner beats UNC to go to the F4 and may in fact win it all. I have Florida losing to Villanova in round 2. I am not sold on the Gators and have picked them to be upset the last few years, which has happened. This year, I'll give them one victory, but not two. I think ISU takes care of Minnesota, but no other upsets.
Austin Region- Duke gets to the S16, but is flattened by Syracuse, who beats Old Dominion in the second round after an upset of MSU. That sets up a rematch with Oklahoma in the E8. OU beats Utah and Cincinnati, who upsets Ky in the second round. However, I'm not sold on Cincy, and whoever wins the Cincy-Iowa game gets to the S16.
F4- Looks like we have Illinois, Gonzaga, Syracuse and the UConn-KU winner. Illinois takes care of the Zags and beats the team that beats the Orange in the other semifinal.
Need more, feel free to ask. I love breaking down the brackets.

The problem with the company pool is that everyone is probably going to jump on Illinois and a few other favorites like No. Carolina and Duke. I need to pick a relative upset to go a long way. Maybe Gonzaga. Maybe Syracuse.
I don't blame you, that's what normally does the trick. I'm from Kansas City, so the one I'm entering in my Dad's office has UConn beating KU, because everyone will be pulling for a UNC-KU game.

BBeing that I am a Kentucky fan I watched them play all year. In my opinion they are a very young team and over rated. I can't believe that they even had a shot at a number 1 seed. I think based on their play they should be a 4 seed. Ever since Louisville is Kentucky's arch rival and the fact that I live in Louisville, I pay pretty close attention to what they are doing and I think they deserve the 2 seed more than Kentucky did.
I defiantly think Cincy has a good chance of beating Kentucky which will suck because it will be the third year in row that a CUSA team has knocked Kentucky out of the tourney. The UofL fans will not let us UK fans live it down if this happens.
I think Louisville has a good chance at making a good run in the tournament
I expect big things from Kentucky next year, they only had two seniors and indications are all of the freshman will play their sophomore year.
As far as the rest of the teams I will be just guessing.
Well, Pitt is already screwing up my brackets. I had them pulling the upset over Washington in Round 2, and they are getting handled by Pacific. This sucks. I hate March Madness...
6-2 through the first 8 games. Called an upset of BC that didn't happen, and UTEP ALMOST pulled it out. Not gonna jinx it, but this is the best start I've had since I started tracking the bracket

...and, I love it.
I had Pitt taking Washington out as well. I have a lot of upsets in my bracket just not the right ones
Lowlights: Pacific over Pitt (already losing 1 of my Sweet 16 teams). Cincinatti over Iowa. Texas Tech over UCLA. I also forgot to choose a Texas-Nevada winner. If I lose out on the cash because of that, I might get upset.
12-4. Finished the afternoon session 7-1 but a 2-2 finish in the late games did me in. Of course, I could be doing a lot worse, but I'm mad about this.

As long as your Elite 8 teams remain in tact through the 1st Round, that is the key to sucess. You can sustain some disappointments in the 1st couple of rounds as long as your favorites stay alive.
Missed 3 yesterday. Don't appear to be hurt to bad in my sides or in pool. The second day is traditionally when my bracket goes to Hell. From looking at others in pool, it looks like a key game will be NC State v. Charlotte. I need an NC State win.
how about Vermont with the upset over 'cuse??? 60-57 in OT. how bout that 32 footer by that t.j. kid? that was friggen amazin

Huge Jayhawk fan here. Lived in K.C. for 10 years and been to Allen Fieldhouse several times. I'm in shock. Just shock. And stinking CBS wouldn't even switch over to the game here in Houston, even at the end. We had to hear the Georgia Tech / GW announcers talking about the KU game while they ignored their own game happening in front of them.
Good luck to everyone else. My reason for watching the tourney just made an early exit.

I'm in shock too. Lifelong KC resident, and it is going to be awkward the next few days. Didn't think Simien and the boys were going to end on a win, but a first round loss seems a little too harsh.
Freshmen: F4
Sophs: National Championship Game
Jrs: Lost in E8 in OT
Seniors: First Round Upset
Who knew?
BTW I'm glad I picked UConn over KU in the S16

My bracket is torched. I'm perfect in the Chicago set, yes I had Wisc-Milwaukee, but completely hosed everywhere else. Two out of my Final Fours are gone.
Some great games though. That W. Virginia/Wake game was fantastic. Go Mountaineers. If I had to bet right now I'd say it's Illinois v. N. Carolina in the final game with Carolina winning the championship. Of course I have that in my bracket so don't look for it to happen.
