I could be wrong, but there seems to be a negative correlation between interest in health and fitness, and interest in NASCAR.

Nah. For me it could have been considered cardio, because my heart rate was through the roof, especially near the end.

Outcome was predictable. I glad it's over and we can finally get on with some real racing.

i'm being dead serious here! how many people consider auto racing a sport? and if so, why?

cowboy, I know a lot of people think it is just racing cars. As a former competitor, I can tell you that strength and conditioning apply here like it does in the stick and ball sports. Maybe not to the same degree, but it is still present.

First race I watched was the 1993 500 when Jarrett held off Earnhardt and I was hooked.

I like auto racing, just not nascar, but I don't really consider it a sport.
