Jose Canseco's new book

I can't wait for it to come out on Monday. I know the man is not the most upstanding citizen. but, I feel he has some merit and credibility to what he is saying. It is going to be an interesting read. He was know in mlb as the chemist for his steroid usage.

I've been reading articles about the book. One quoted Dave Stewart who played with Canseco with the A's. Stewart said Jose's former teammates had heard about the book some time ago. Apparently it was shopped around for some time before a publisher was found willing to risk the lawsuits. Hard to believe a publisher would be so shy considering the crap that comes out these days.

Interestingly Stewart didn't deny any of the things he heard were in the book. He merely said him and Canseco ran with a different crowd.

Should be an interesting read.

I just saw and article that reported Canseco and his agent don't recognize some of the stuff being quoted from the book. I think it was Charles Barkley that made some kind of comment about being misquoted in his own biography a few years ago. Sounds a bit like Canseco may be going down the same path.

The article said the book is coming out on February 14, and Canseco is going to appear on 60 Minutes on February 13.
