As an Eagles fan, it was hard to like a guy that would run you over year in and year out. As a football fan, it's hard not to like a guy with this much class and heart....

What do you think about him signing a 1 day contract with Dallas so he can retire as a Cowboy? I read some columnist yesterday who really ran down the practice and urged Smith to retire as a Cardinal. Personally it doesn't bother me. Smith will always be remembered as a Dallas Cowboy and if he wants to retire as one, he earned that right.

As a Cowboy fan since age 4, Emmitt is my favorite running back of all time. Almost all of my football memories as a grade schooler are of the Cowboys and the Chiefs, and Emmitt is in a lot of them. Not a big Cowboy fan anymore, but Emmitt will always be my guy.

As I watched the press conference, it was hard not to cry.

Why not retire a cardinal? they gave him a chance when the cowboys let him go? doesn't mean he has to go into the hall as a cardinal, but why not retire as one?

I really dislike Emmit. Unfortunately I doubt we've heard the last of him.

I htought it was a great move by the Cowboys. Emmit is and was a Cowboy. I'm glad they did it, personally.
