Looks like they are trading for Sammy Sosa. They get guys past their prime and try to convince fans they are building a winner. The Nationals are looking better and better.

Yeah, Peter Angelos does nothing but whine about the Nationals, and the Nats go out and make some decent moves, while the O's get a decent player, who has evolved into a self-centered whiner. It's sad that all the Cubbies could muster for Sosa is Jerry Hairston and a few prospects. I haven't even heard the names of the prospects, but I sure hope they're alright. How do you think Sosa will fit in a lineup with Javy, Raffy, Tejada, & Co.?

Thankfully he didn't go to the Mets. That would have ruined a good off-season.

IF Sosa can play well (big if) the O's have a decent lineup. But, when Sidney Ponson is your ace, you ain't going anywhere. Besides, why try when there's no chance in hell of passing the Yanks or Sox.

Because the Yanks and Sox are a starting pitcher injury away from being mediocre and the Yanks have done nothing to address their bullpen. Alas, the Orioles have not improved theirstarting pitching which was what they needed to do.

B.J. Ryan is all they have in the pen too. The O's will finish third at best, and even if the Yanks and Sawx are decimated by injury, they won't win the division.
