So my brother and I were talking today about good ol' Larry Allen from the Dallas Cowboys, who my brother saw on TV bench 700 pounds...So well i mean this was a while ago, but I wanted to find video of this, so I started looking on Google and came across a topic like this on another site. Anyway I found out that:
Quote:
Adam Archuleta at 6 foot 210-215lbs, can bench 530lbs and squat 663, powerclean 315+
Not sure about the validity of this comment, but wow! If that's true that's amazing. Anyone know any other athletes (besides strongmen body builder etc) that can compare? I'd like to hear from you guys about what else is out there...
If I can find the Adam Archuleta video's floating around they are pretty awesome. He trains with a guy named Jay Schroder who has some pretty crazy methods. Depth drops, barbell catches, lots of stuff most of us will never do. He doesn't let out most of what he does which sucks though. Cool stuff anyway.

St. Louis Post did an article about ARchuleta's training a while back, and I guess part of it involves getting the shocked with electricity. Crazy. He's having an incredibly bad year by the way. Missing lots of tackles.
I think it was Craig or Alwyn who said that pound for pound, of the Olympic athletes they train, the strongest generally would be gymnasts. One of the guys said one of the figure skaters he trained was incredibly strong as well. Hopefully they'll wander down to this forum and post.
I can't find that clip on his redesigned website, but it was insane. He took three steps and jumped up onto a box that was above his shoulder height. Talk about explosive power!
Did anyone see the piece on Archuleta a couple of years back on "MNF?" The pushup variations he did were awesome. He pushed himself up with so much force he was able to rotate 180 degrees in the air, and repeated.

Not really the strongest athlete, but pretty damn impressive, 5'5" 133lb Earl Boykins from the Nuggets can bench almost 350. I just read an article about him in one of the local papers. He started the offseason at 315, and at the start of the year, he was at like 345. We go to Nuggets games, and that little man is running everywhere, kicking ass. It's awesome...
