Steinbrenner and Pedro has a meeting in Tampa? I am severly disgusted by this, and if the Yankees do get Pedro, who will all of their fans hate now?

I heard about this. I'm neither a sox or yankee fan, but I can say this. Rivarlies are apparantly over. I would never play for a team I hated, but then again nobody was offering me 100 million either.

It's just a business. For the kind of money Pedro will get he would play against his own family.

Most us on the board would. No more loyalty. Sad but I can't blame them.

It's all about the cash and the Yanks have the most. It would be tough to say no.

Player movement does keep the game intersting and gives hope to your team when the cash is used correctly.

I hope the speculation that they're just using each other to get better deals with other etams/players is true.

If they sign Pedro, I'm still gonna hate the MF. And I'll have a hard time pulling for them... This is gonna suck...

baseball needs a salary cap, not a "tax"

Yes, baseball does need a salary cap. Losing takes its toll. As a lifelong Royals fan, they won the series the year I was born, and haven't done anything since. Although they did almost get the division and finished 83-79 last year, that's not success on a Yankee scale. I can't tell you how pumped the whole city was about that team. They captured our hearts, and then we got thrown back to ugly reality this year with that stinker of a team.

I would love to see a salary cap. Try being in Minnesota. We raise these badass guys from farm teams, have a couple great years with them than bam we don't shell out any money and they leave. I think its more that I hate our owner than I hate other teams stealing our players. The Twins have been in the runnings these last couple years and the bastard still won't put out any money for decent players.

Danny,

It sure is nice and exciting watching the highlight of your outfield every night though, huh?

Danny,

You're right on the money with the Twins. It's a shame. They've had a great farm system for a numbers of years and they can't keep their studs. They are like Montreal in that reagrd.

Baseball needs to take a page from the NFL's playbook and realize the league is the product and not each individual team. One wins they all win in some way.
