Default Watching Favre and the Vikings

In case anyone wanted to know.

Minnesota is largely very supportive.

Why do you think they invested that much in a player that might not make the season?

Experience to encourage the 'Super Bowl' caliber team they have? I guess it just confuses me why they want to so heavily invest in someone that won't be around long . . .

With one of the top defenses in the league and Adrian Peterson in the backfield, all they really need to be contenders is a capable quarterback. T-Jack and Rosenfels spent training camp proving they weren't up to the task.

If the team was rebuilding, the Favre acquisition would be a bad move. They aren't going to build a team more talented than they have now, though.

The window of opportunity is short in the NFL. With the talent the Vikings have, the next two years are crucial.

Favre won't be asked to carry this team. He's mostly going to be handing off to Peterson, but it's critical to have somebody who can complete some passes to keep defenses honest.

If they make it to the Superbowl, $25 million is well worth it.

All of this is moot, though, if Chili continues to demonstrate the gameday coaching ineptitude he has the past three years.

He is certainly the only real need that they had to fulfill, to make a potential Superbowl team out of a Dud with Tavaris Jackson at the helm...

Time will tell if he makes it all the way, but dayum, he's looking good, and so are the Vikings.
