Bracketology

who's everyone picking for final 4 and upsets?

I'm still editing, but i like:

upsets:
Texas AM over 8 BYU
USC over BC
Cleveland St. over Wake
Western KY over IL (although, this one may change)
Butler over LSU (this is b/c butler is from my home state, and i like em')

Final 4:
Missouri
Louisville
UNC
Duke

Louisville over Duke in the final game.

i think the south bracket is the toughest, and will screw with people the most. I think Oklahoma is a great team, but they've been iffy since Griffen's concussion.

I really like Syracuse, but i don't see them going to the final 4 after playing a tough tournament, and then having to defeat possible teams like OK, or UNC

Louisville pretty much has a cakewalk to the final 4. I think MSU is way overrated, but i think Kansas may actually do pretty well. They are an iffy team though.

I really like Pitt vs. Duke for the final 4 spot, and it was a coin toss for me to see who would get in. I may actually switch to Pitt, since they seem to have more of an inside game, and not relying on outside shots. But Duke's strategy has done them pretty well so far....

UConn is very very good, but i've seen them look real vunerable, and even ND beat them.

9 over 8 isn't an upset

and I'm not going to talk about your final four at all. I don't even want to think about it.

9 over an 8 IS an upset in the sense that 9 is a lower seed. But, it is a 50/50 chance

and you don't want to talk about it b/c they're bad, or b/c you don't wanna jinx Mizz going?

I paid $80,000 for my son to graduate from college and all I got was a bunch of these.

Now I'd like a reason to wear them.

but the seeds mean nothing between 6 and 11. That's when you can start throwing around the word "upset" and it's legit. especially this year.

the latter. I about puked four or five times during the Big XII Tournament because of nervousness. This weekend is going to be infinitely worse, and moreso if they get to the S16.

that's by your terminology. Most everyone else considers a win by a low seed over a higher one an "upset"

but by your definition, who are you predicting?

yeah; it's my definition, but it's a common sense definition. the teams are too muddled to truly have one be considered better than the other

It varies from bracket to bracket. I'm going with Cleveland State, No Iowa, Mississippi State, Utah State, VCU and Western KY as my main ones.

how's everyone's bracket doing?

i'm sitting at 3rd place in a group of 23 for 400 bucks. FSU and BC losses hurt a little, the rest, not so much

Not bad here, all things considered. Winners I missed:

Sienna over Ohio State
Cleveland State over Wake Forest
Michigan over Clemson
Western Kentucky over Illinios (had them in the Sweet 16 but no farther)
Wisconsin over Florida State
Oklahoma State over Tennessee

Upsets I picked correctly (seeds 6-11 don't count as upsets):

Arizona over Utah
Dayton over West Virginia

No clue how I'm ranked, but I'm in better shape than most right now, I'm sure.
