What helps is that they avoided a bad draw in the CL. Thankfully you guys get to knock heads with Chelsea two more times, and I'd rather play Arse if I was Man U and got by Porto than Barca/Bayern.

As I said to you at the last Summit - there was no way Ronaldo would leave that summer but probably would the next...looks to be the case. I know alot of Utd fans who have totally lost faith in him.
Ribery will only go to Barca IMO, in which case I'd love us to make a sly bid for Henry. No chance we'll sign etoo, not a 'benitez type' player... he won't work hard enough when we don't have possession which is something Benitez demands (see Kyut and Mascherano and as prime examples).
If Utd get £70m for Ronny, it'll be very interesting to see what Whiskey nose does with the transfer kitty... recently he's bought good quality players but paid well over the odds for them Anderson, Nani, Berbatov, Hargreaves et al. People are starting to question Fergie, which he loves, he usually pulls a master stroke to shut everybody up...please god not the quadruple.
This Summer is going to be very interesting.

I think that ManU can go after Ribery if they get the kitty from Ronaldo. If he doesn't leave, then they won't, but hell, Ronaldo on one wing and Ribery on the other????? (That would mean no Tevez though. I almost wonder if I'd rather have Tevez+Ribery+other player than Ronaldo+Tevez/Ribery) I think that the Benzema rumors are far far far from true because United hardly has room for anyone now, and I doubt that Benzema would want Tevez's role, unless Dimitar keeps getting knocked.
I would love to see Anderson take the second midfield spot alongside Carrick while Fletcher was used as a supersub. However, I think Giggs would be a great placeholder in the middle if he can keep his mid-30s resurgence going, provided that ManU can get someone more competent than Park on the wings. I love Park's effort, but he just always seems thisclose to making something happen.
United is in decent shape at the back, provided that Rafael can come back from whatever injury he's suffered. I really like an Evra/Rio/Vidic/Rafael back line, but they're never all healthy. The pace that Evra and Rafael can provide is outstanding; far from what old man Neville or O'Shea can do. (O'Shea is great in the role he's supposed to be in as the super-sub in the back five)
And must I mention the fact that 2-2 looks better than 1-3, the Porto homefield notwithstanding...

I’d suggest that Park is a very important player for you, if you look at the correlation between big games and him starting it’s clear fergie trusts him; very much like Benitez and Kuyt. Very dependable and covers a lot of ground.
Right Bbck is an area you need to improve, Rafael looks promising but no more than that (in the context of a championship challenging team). He may be a great player in the future but it’s a bit too soon to trust him ‘week in week out’. I can’t comment on Neville because I loathe him so much I can’t be impartial in any sense.
At CB you’ve got the best partnership in the world, if I had to pick a weakness I’d say Vidic can susceptible to strikers playing off his shoulder who have great bursts of pace, but Rio covers that most of the time.
The forward line is a strange one at present, in all honesty I think Tevez should be your main man but he’s probably the guy to make way if somebody else comes in… I’d love him at Liverpool but we’ve bigger fish to fry at the moment.

Once it went to penalties I knew it was over. It was nice to see Cahill choke that penalty away, but Berba and Rio? You'd think one of them could put it away.
That's alright though. Maybe it's being a newbie American fan, but the CL and EPL are much bigger to me.

I had to watch via justin tv but yes, it did. It was 2-0, saw the penalty make it 2-1, and then when I came back to it (I was working and wasn't at the computer constantly) it was 4-2.

Arsenal were totally insipid; Utd's 3rd was special though.
I feel sorry for Fletcher, it was a fair tackle and although he's pretty mediocre, he deserves his final appearance. The ‘no appeals on straight red cards’ rule is dated and needs rethinking.
