Default Keeper League Question

I've got a choice between 3 runnings backs in a 12 team keeper league.

Jamal Lewis
Thomas Jones
Darren McFadden

Who do I take? I can keep them for unlimited time. Once I've got him I've got him. My other RB is Willie Parker.

Long-term, it seems like McFadden is a no-brainer. If you keep him, he could be a Top-5 pick by next year. The other guys are getting old and are probably past their prime.

Would Maroney being available change that? He is only in his 3rd year.

If you're playing for the money this year, then you can consider Jamal Lewis, but if you're more concerned with a keeper, it's McFadden by a long shot.

Maroney may never become a true fantasy threat because of Brady and his tendency to get banged up.

I also don't trust Willie that much either, so I think it's imperative to have a stud for the next few years because Mendenhall is going to be the guy in Pittsburgh in a few years.

It's for money every year. So do I go for picks this year and lock up a potential money player next year or do I try to compete?

I'm leaning toward McFadden and then trying for a servicable #3 for spot starts later in the draft. The way the draft is structured I have one more pick in our supplemental draft 5 spots later and then the #2 over all in the regular draft Tuesday.

Lewis was a top earner last year in the JP league. Consistent double digits.

How come we aren't doing JP's this year?

i agree with this, and second the notion that parker won't be a stud this year. i'd trade him for a better prospect.

It's only a four team keeper. Since I didn't have any of think of value to trade I think I'm going to try and get a servicable #3 RB in case either Parker or McFadden bust.
