Can't say I've ever been too excited in the past but I'm actually looking forward to it this year. 'Course over here everything (mostly) will already be over and done before we get to see it.
The only thing I'm waiting to see is the amount of coverage NBC provides. If I can watch all the women's gymnastics--er, wrestling competitions in their entirety, I'll be impressed.

OMG, I LOVE the Olympics. I am so excited! I've also decided to FINALLY learn how to swim and I am slated to start lessons at the end of August. So, I figure that the Olympics will get me really pumped to learn!
I'm thrilled. I know people who are boycotting watching, because of where they are being held. So be it, but I will be watching and cheering for them. I am most excited for the gymnastics, swimming, diving and oh, men's volleyball . I love the olympics and even the sappy stories of their challenges, hard work and perserverance.

Those are the best!! Those stories motivate me! And, this year, watching Dara swim will make me SOOOO motivated to be a swimmer!
i'm looking forward to it. I'm hoping to catch some of the weightlifting since i never do. Not real excited about the basketball... too much showboating. I like the track events, and the swimming as well.

1. I hope Phelps breaks some records - including Spitz'
2. We have have 14yr old in the Diving so there is a media circus in our country putting far too much pressure on him.
3. The athletics have become a joke.

I wanted to see what the online feed was like - so tried watching some dressage just now - the video was so jerky for streaming it was hard to really see the gaits being displayed -
American 'B' team breaks the 4X100 Freestyle World Record...fantastic swim.

I have been watching as much of the olympics as possible, and just ordered a 500gb expansion drive for my tivo. After fast forwarding through 14 hours of footage to watch 15 minutes of weighlifting I know I'm going to need a lot of space to make sure I catch everything I want to see.
Did anyone catch the men's 56kg weightlifting? Long Qingquan of China took gold and broke the JR world record with a 292kg total at 17 years old!
