Celtics-Lakers, top team in east versus top in west. old school rivalry. should be a great finals. after watching how happy they were to advance to the finals, i really hope they can win it all.

Yeah I have been hearing a lot of people complaining about the scheduling. There isn't really an excuse for a late game on a Sunday night. The others I can deal with, we usually get the best of scheduling on the east coast. I wish there was a game on friday or saturday though, thats just play dumb.

I think they skipped Saturday to avoid conflict with a potential Stanley Cup Finals Game 7.

Sunday at 7 PM Eastern would be a perfect start for Game 2 to me.

Wow! The Celtics have that "Go for the kill" look that I've seen from the Spurs and Pistons in years past. It all starts with the defense.

amazing

i was just a baby when they last won, just over a year old. i still remember going to the Garden, getting to meet the Big 3 and the rest in the locker room before they retired or moved on. you could sense the history in that building.

now, history has come back...the hardwork, that celtic spirit...its back and im extremely happy for all those players

i'm really happy the celtics won and the lakers are sent packing. I know a girl who was working at the game in the news station in boston and i was texting her when the game ended.

I expected this game to be a blow out when the celtics were hanging with the lakers and not at a deficit in the first quarter. I expected 20pts though, not 40. Awesome, and i'm happy to say that i was in the town in the same season that the celtics won their first championship in YEARS!

Amazing. I am so happy for those 3 players. I feel like every member on that team contributes in a certain way and they all have respect for one another. It's just so awesome. It seems like only yesterday I was hoping they would not lose 18 games in a row and make a new record for the longest losing streak. Then I remember how upset me and my friends were when we got the 5th overall pick. Then I remember getting phone calls from people asking me what they thought about our team now that we had Ray Allen. Then obviously the day we got KG. The entire offseason didn't settle in truly until we started playing some games. And we finished the regular season on top only to have the longest path to a championship I've ever seen.

Oh and the gatorade P poured on Doc was priceless. Never seen that in basketball!

All I can say is Wow..the lakers got shut down. Boston played their asses off, and derserved to win. The best part about it was Doc Rivers saying at the beginning of the 4th quarter, that he told them to not let up, and still play hard defense. They did exactly that...blocks, steals..all the way to the end. And the offense, non-stop 3's....the whole package.

That was one of the best ass-kicking finale's Ive ever seen. Im happy for them, they deserved to win the championship.
