The Hornets were defeated by the Spurs on Game7
The Spurs really played like champions.
The next match-up for the Spurs will really be a good one.

haha it's funny how the Celtics were such heavy favorites before the playoffs started and 14 games in they are now the underdogs. I don't disagree, their overall play has been disappointing, but I wish they could snap back into whatever gave them that killer instict during the regular season and just dominate the rest of the playoffs. Hard to believe how much regular season and playoffs differ.

Me too. It is exactly as I had hoped it would turn out. This should be a great series.

Spurs/Detroit in the championship is my best guess.

After Game 7, it is clear that Paul Pierce is the go to guy for Boston. If Ray Allen can start finding the basket a bit more with his outside shot, I think the Celtics can beat the Pistons. He had a terrible series against Cleveland.

I fell asleep during the first half at some point and woke up in the third quarter about the time the Spurs went up by 20. Then the Spurs went to sleep! The Lakers were playing good D but the Spurs couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Still, the way they played the first 2 1/2 quarters was encouraging and I didn't expect that they would win the series opener on the road. If they can get rested and hit shots, I think they can still take LA.

Kobe had a stellar performance against the Spurs.
The Lakers are going to proceed to the finals if they play as good as today.

damn I went deep sea fishing for like 12 hours yesterday and was so tired I feel asleep during the 3rd quarter while the Spurs seem to be taking over. Can't believe the Lakers won that awesome. The first game of the Celtics/Pistons series was friggin awesome too can't wait for tonight! I really hope Ray Allen can get out of this slump, he is one of the best all time shooters and is struggling in some of the biggest games of his career, sad to see.

If by "friggin awesome" you mean "frustratingly hard to watch", I agree!

Just 1 game... The performance was rather predictable though- with Chauncey coming back and with the long layoff. They're historically rusty when they get mroe than 2 days off. Hopefully, they get their rhythm back tonight.

I was surprised how many experts were picking Detroit in the first game, I've always known them for struggling after time off rather than appear fresh and ready to play. Especially after their play the first few games against Philly. As far as I can tell they are the favorites for the series and for game 2. About 20 minute till tip off!

The Pistons actually played better in game 1 than I expected. It would be a huge lift to take game 2 tonight and get that "have to win on the road" scare into the Celtics. I do give the Celtics a lot of credit as I expected them to be a bit tired after back to back 7 game series.

Go Pistons!

C'mon Spurs! Can't piss away a 20 point lead with the Lakers playing like they are. Tonight should be a good game!

Good game? I wish! Spurs look very much worn out... very little energy from anyone. Duncan's playing pretty well (which would be astounding for mere mortals) but no one else can make a bucket. I've seen more really awful shots than I've seen in a while. I wonder how much the lack of the usual Ginobli spark is the cause for overall lack of intensity...?

The Pistons sure did stink up the Palace last night. Unreal! The Celtics did hove a bit to do with it, but not knocking down so many open looks is bad.

damn the C's really almost blew that lead tonight. Luckily they barely held on. I saw an interesting stat, the big 4 for the pistons (rip, billups, sheed, and tay) have played well over 300 playoff games together. Compare that to the 19 the big 3 have together! Detroit sure is a tough team I would love the Celtics to end this away...I don't know if I can handle a game 7!!!
