You can't ignore the Suns' part of all this. They played like they EXPECTED THEMSELVES to play all along but I think the first game blew their psyche. They made good adjustments and finally regained it but I think that'll be their last W this season.
I hate to say I told you so.... no I don't.
They talk about the Big Three of the Spurs but they basically won last night with the Big Two. Ginobli contributed in other ways but you still have to score to win. The Suns really should have made a better showing than they did - they are a much better team than this season's playoff record indicates - but I'm glad the first one is over.
I'll be a nervous wreck in the next series.
I think Utah will take the Rockets in Game 6 and the Lakers will take the Jazz.
If the Spurs got bumped, I'd be pulling for the Men in Green but they sure haven't seen to be as dominant as I thought they'd be. Hope they pull it together in the East but, if the Spurs make it to the Finals, my support for them ends there.
I really have no idea what is up with the Celtics. I was so disappointed in Doc's rotation in the 4th quarter last night. I love Cassell, but at this point in the year I think Rondo needs to be confident and we should either lose or win with him. I was really disappointed in KG not being aggressive at all.
I would love to see Atlanta knock off Boston tomorrow. Everybody and their dog picked Boston and Atlanta has (not so) quietly shoved the b ball where the sun don't shine.

Yeah, this didn't turn out so well for atlanta.
Been routing for KG since he came out of high school...hope he finally gets his ring.
So the Spurs go down 0-2 and this thread is done? haha, I kid of course. But Chris Paul is amazing. I want to see Lakers/Hornets western conference finals
Wow the refs really sucked last night in the Orlando/Detroit game. And the clock keeper?? Lets just leave it on 4.8 seconds at the end of the 3rd, to give Detroit enough time run down the court and put up a 3. Fuckers.

No, but in all honesty, Orlando better step it up this next game too. If not, and they go down 1-3, and go back to Detroit, they are surely in some trouble.
The Spurs got one but do they have enough gas in the tank to see it through? I admired their effort last night because it showed a lot of mental toughness, IMHO.
There's a guy who works for me who is quite talented so, when I saw that someone had written GO SPURS GO on the board, I asked him to add this:
It all depends on Orlando's 3 point shooters. They were on fire last night. I'm not sure that is sustainable. They did dominate last night though.
Thats true, but I would never count out Detriot..especially when it comes to Orlando as they've always had issues with Detriot. I like Orlando because I live here now (Im originally from NY), but Detriot has one hell of a squad (and has for years now).
The Spurs won because they were offensively having a good night, but defensively Chris Paul still scored 35 on them. If the Spurs are going to win more games, they have to stop him. But I hope they don't because Lakers/Hornets would be one hell of a western final!!!
I also got to say, even as a Celtics fan, what the hell is up with Lebron? I think game 3 will be big for this series, the Celtics need a win on the road and Lebron need to be himself. Definitely going to want to watch that game
Don't forget that LeBron looked nearly this bad last year (and the year before) against the Pistons after 2 games. Then, he took over and it wasn't pretty (from my point of view).
The Magic have some decent talent. It just isn't spread out over multiple positions. They've got 3 above average starter-caliber players, and 2 of them play the same position (Hedo and Lewis). I think they'd be better off using Hedo as an oversized 2-guard, or 6th man. They need to target post help for Dwight in the off-season. As good as he is, he's the only post player on their entire roster that would be a rotation player on a contender. It's impressive that those 3 guys have pretty much carried them this far.
Edit: They should go after Udonis Haslem in the off-season. He was a perfect complement to Shaq at the 4.
