Sorry JP but this is why I hate the combine. The man runs 7 tenths faster than AP and everyone seems to forget he had 22 fumbles in 3 years.

.......im just pissed cause K smith ran a 4.44

wasnt there one kid who ran a 4.24? thats ridiculous.

Oh he's human all right. He's got 2 kids on the away and a lawyer to handle paternity matters.

He can't win the game all by himself. He was the number one college running back in the US, and first runner up for the Heisman.

He's also from Little Rock, Central High. Local boy done good!

Obviously not at the combine but have you seen Defranco's
Brian Witherspoon run a 4.16

As evidenced by that thrashing

(oh, his stats from that game weren't very good either)

I can honestly say I have seen Dmac do things on the field I couldn't believe. Not to mention he shared A LOT of carries with Felix Jones, who by the way, ran as fast as K. Smith. Also, the 7 tenths faster than AP is a big deal because it has been thrown in Dmac's face for 2 years he wasn't as fast as AP. Did any of you see Dmac's run? It looked effortless. Not to mention he wasn't wearing the light cleats others were wearing. He had on regular cross trainers. I don't know how much that would effect his time, but the shoes are heavier than the cleats. Or so I have been told. Anyways, to take away from his time just sounds like jealousy. As for his performance in the Cotton Bowl, I believe that can be blamed on COACHING!!!

I think McFadden is a hell of a running back and should be a good pro.

But after that beatdown January 1; no Arkansas bragging can be done without mention of the Cotton Bowl.

Just to be clear, he ran 7 hundredths of a second faster than AP. He's 7 tenths faster than offensive linemen.

Or in the case of Jeff Otah, 1.2 seconds faster.

Dmac ran for 44 yards(on 28 carries if i remember) gainst miss state. K Smith ran for 109. By my calculation, this makes 24K doubly better than Dmac.

Disclaimer, this is the same calculation that led me to believe chris chambers is doubly better than randy moss.

Moss traded for a 4rth round pick. Chambers 2nd round= 2x>moss.

yes...it has its flaws.....

how bout Long putting up 225 37 times!!?!?!?!?!?!?!? thats nuts.

oh by the waym Dmac will probly be good, but folks need to stop trying to compare him to AP. The boy ran for 296 as a PRO, n as a rookie!

And why couldn't McFadden do that if he did go to the Cowboys?

(ignoring the fact that Romo could be throwing to Javon Walker, TO, Moss, Crayton and Witten this year)

Well, if only all of the rumors were true. (I believed the Walker one infinitely moreso than the Moss one because Jones confirmed it, but it was fun to think how explosive--in both senses--that team would be)

I still think that McFadden could do it given the right situation. Peterson played behind a pretty impressive offensive line and on a team with an offensive philosophy to run the ball. Not to take away anything from the 296, but McFadden *could* do that.

ninja, the kid hasnt even played a pro game yet. NOBODY has ever done what AP did, and he did it against a team that went to the AFC title game.

please do not say a kid who has never even played a pro pre-season game could run for 296. LT never did it, payton never did it, sanders never did it, neither did E smith. Do not disrespect these guys by saying this kid can.

Thats like saying even though Brady quinn has never played in a real nfl game, he "could" throw 6 TDs in a game.

How am I disrespecting anyone? He could do it. Brady Quinn could do it. If he's as good as everyone says he is, he could do it.

Will he do it is a different story. However, you are the one using the Kevin Smith logic....

Don't be disrespecting Payton, Sanders, Smith based on this kid having one game. Come back if he gets to 10K. Until then he's not in the same league as those guys.

My mistake, it is just something that has been thrown in his face and now he has ran a faster 40 than AP. I am not saying he is going to run more yards than AP as a rookie nor am I saying he is going to have a better career. AP is a beast! I'm just giving Dmac props for doing something his critics said he couldn't do. He is and Arkansas guy and we don't have a pro team. So this is all we have to root for in the NFL is old Razorbacks. At least let us backwoods, buck teeth, barefoot hillbillies have that!

I grew up in Jonesboro. My brother lives in Springdale. And yes, I have called the hogs. So I know what you mean!
