I have never rooted or been a fan of anyone else but the Black and Gold of the Steeler Nation. However, this weekend for the first time I will be rooting for the NY Giants and Eli to whoop the shit out of Marsha Brady and crew.
Did I mention I hate the Patriots?
Anyone else in a similar mode?

Im originally from NY, and me and my father have been Giant fans for a long time. I hope they beat the shit out of the patriots..one because its my team, but two so I can laugh at everyone else that says the pats are going to stomp them.
Same here... my grandpa and my two uncles were/are huge giants fans.... actually, ever since my one uncle died in September they've been kicking ass and taking names... I'm not one for religion, but I do think he's somehow helpin them out! I want them to crush the pats on Sunday :-)
I too, shall be supporting the giants - I stand to make about $500 if they win. On a five pound bet.

yur damned skippy Kaiser, thats about all we got these days. As a dolfan, to route for a NY team....it just isnt kosher, but this is an exception. I hope strahan breaks brady's leg and the difference in this game from their first meeting will actually be an ex dolphin. Big bad sam madison is back and he will be all over Moss's nuts, leaving guys like webster to help contain Wes. Geez, there are like 9 Ex fins playing sunday.......sigh.
I do think the GEEEEEEEEE Men can pull it off, that D line is just plain nasty, their DBs are healthy and Eli is playing EFFICIENT. If he can continue his 3 game pick less streak, and the two headed monster can wear down that NE front 7......we should be in for a Giant upset......yeahi know, that was corny.
I think my G-men can pull it off. The secondary, which has been our Achilles all year, is finally starting to show up. Ross is an animal playing after dislocating his shoulder. The pass rush wears down offensive lines. We saw it against the Cowboys as they just dominated the second half of that game. If Strahan, Umenyiora, Tuck, and company can get pressure going, it'll make things a lot easier on the secondary. On the offensive side of the ball, Manning has found complete chemistry with Burress. What excites me: Burress: 6'5" Patriot CBs Ellis Hobbes: 5'9" and Asante Samuel: 5'10". The Giants need to exploit that as much as possible and I'm sure they will. Staying with the passing game, Kevin Boss has emerged as another safety net for Manning, Toomer has stepped it up and his leadership should help, and Steve Smith has shown an ability to be the go-to guy when Burress is shut down.
On the rushing side of the playbook, the emergence of a healthy Ahmad Bradshaw could spell trouble for an older Patriot linebacking unit. In Week 17, the Patriot LBs did a good job of forcing the run back inside with Brandon Jacobs. Bradshaw is a quicker back who I believe is a better outside runner. If the Giants can stretch the field with Bradshaw and Jacobs, they could exploit the aging LBs. Obviously, establishing the run leads to openings in the passing game as well.
Feagles is a nasty punter, best in the business when it comes to winning a field position battle: angled punts, pinning inside the 20, etc. Tynes scared the crap out of me last game, but in the friendly confines in Arizona, I expect him to fare better. Hixon has really helped turn the Giants special teams around. McQuarters will still be back receiving punts, despite his 2 fumbles in the NFC Championship game, and is still a decent reliable returner. With the way the Giants have played of late, I think the game should turn out to be a good one.
GO GIANTS!

im having a bbq over here and we are playing the Super Bowl Jagermeister game. Pair off in twos, each person choses a team, whenever your team scores, the other guy has to down a shot of jager. Im picking the giants so either way I "win"

That is me to a tee! I have always disliked the Pats and even moreso, now.
Steve,
That game sounds fun!
I hear that there is some betting going on about how many times the announcer, Joe Buck, calls Eli, Peyton. I guess he has a habit of doing that.

I cannot STAND Joe Buck. Or Troy Aikman. Or most announcers at that.

I swear I'd make an awesome mediocre announcer. It's like they're in my head. I'll pick something out in a game and comment on it, and no lie 10 seconds later the color guy will say the same thing. Most of the time, as is the case with Joe Morgan and Aikman, it's something completely obvious, but still if they're making millions of dollars doing it, maybe it could work for me too.
