Default 20-17

I don't give a shit about the Jets, but it'll be nice tomorrow at work when all the gloating Pats fans, predicting the 60-0 blowout for "revenge" (after all, it was the Jets who made them cheat), have to sit quiet with their modest victory over the lowly Jets.

And no, it's not a typo to have the score 20-17. I figured I'd give the Jets the bobbled catch TD, ala Gaffney vs. the Ravens (same play, different result) just to make it look better. No way the Jets would've won anyway, but still, it's the principle.

they got that call right - he bobbled the ball.

i think this game showed that the Pats can and will run the ball when needed
and it was definitely needed in todays game

You guys missed my point: for the last 2 weeks at work, all I've heard is the guys going on and on and on about how they're going to "crush" the Jets, run up the score, embarass them, etc. And if you watched the game, it was anything but an "embarassment". Brady played like crap. So... thankfully, I won't be hearing "Did you see his 5 touchdowns? I TOLD you they'd annihilate them!"

There will be no comments. You'd be hard-pressed to brag about this one. That's all I'm saying.

I don't give a flying fuck about the players themselves. I don't have to work with them, train them, get my coffee from them or anything else.

Funny how I have gotten so much shit over the years about how Yankees fans are so arrogant and won't shut up about their championships. Try living in Boston these days with Pats and Red Sox doing so well. You'll find reasons to cheer when they can't find any great reasons to gloat.

I remember quite distinctly not rubbing it in their faces when the Steelers won the Super Bowl. I just smiled for a few days. No such action in return.

Read what I said, not what you WISH I said. (and the 17 points thing was joke... pretty obvious with the smiley face)

yankee fans are arrogant.

the problem is that new england fans are not world wide like the yankee fans are. Maybe if the patriots win around 20 more superbowls, there will.

all i keep reading from your posts is discrediting the wins of the patriots. last week, and then "joking" this week.

I really don't give a fuck about the patriots, but a win is a win, and they are a good team. I hear the same thing from steelers fans (friends of mine), about how pitt are screwed out of games, winning teams aren't as good as their losing steelers, etc. They also tell me that NE isn't going to win the SB, or go undefeated.

i think boston fans are allowed to gloat, considering that they've won 2 world series recently after a long, long drought.

Being happy for your team and gloating are different things.

How about getting a tap on your shoulder between squat sets... you turn around, take out your iPod, and the guy says, "What happened to your shitty QB last night? The Jets?!? Hahaha!"

The Pats beat the Steelers. The next day, while training a client, a guy walks by and pats me on the back and says, "That one stings, huh? Better luck next year!" and smiles real big.

These are all guys who besides this will shoot the shit with me, have a drink with me, etc. But they know I'm a Steelers and Yankees fan. Somehow the wins change them, and give them a right to suddenly be an asshole. I never said a word when the Steelers won, or when the Yanks took out the Red Sox a few times in the early 2000's.

Anyway, I save my outbursts for here... because I work there, and because besides these fucking weird moments, I get along with all these guys.

No, gloating is not the same as being happy/proud of your team.

I got you're point. You're still going to hear about it though

I'm a Cleveland fan. Randy Moss is one of my favorite players so NE gets the nod, but IMO they've gotten lucky over the years far more than they've been good.

By the way, Tony... are you the Fighting Gerbils? If so, looks like I'm probably facing you in the FF championship next week. I'm keeping a lookout for extra cameras around my apartment, so don't even try it!

Yes indeed. I believe you've been in first place basically all season, right? I'm just happy/lucky to be there, after starting 2-4! I just wish Joe Addai would decide once and for all if he's going to be great or not!

lol.

If it was 60-0 you'd be on here posting about them running up the score and showing poor sportsmanship. They won by 2 solid scores in crappy conditions. Then end.

Quite possibly... but notice how they didn't blow them out, I didn't question their win ("no way the Jets would've won anyway") and made it pretty clear to those who can read that this was just about not having to hear the gloating at work this week.

Nice try though!

Nope. Check again. I didn't say anything questioning their win over the Steelers. I commented on the trash talk, but that's it.

I questioned the Ravens game, 3 weeks ago.

The rest has just been about attitude and some on the Spygate thing. No biggie... you've just gotten used to me hating them and commenting each week. But I don't question all their games... just the questionable ones.
