Default madden curse
I just head that Mcnabb is out for the season w. a torn ACL. It got me thinking about the "Madden curse" Every player that is on the cover of madden gets injured or has a subpar year.

Madden 2002-Daunte culpper hurt his knee, vikings were bad.
Madden 2003-Marshall faulk hurt his ankle, out for 5 games. He never had an 1000 yd season afterwards
Madden 2004-Michael Vick breaks his fibula, misses majority of season
Madden 2005- Ray Lewis's Team, the Baltimore Ravens missed the playoffs. Lewis missed most of the season the next year.
Madden 2006-Donovan McNabb feuds with T.O, has season-ending sports hernia. Tears ACL following year.
Madden 2007-Shaun Alexander hurts foot, misses large part of the season.

This is why I've stopped drafting Madden Cover Players for my fantasy teams.

Madden looks like a caricature of himself right now. He needs to slow down on the good life and the booze. He looks like a heart attack waiting to happen. Oh, and he needs to go a little lighter on the base! Sheesh!

That being said, he's still fun to listen to during a game.

If you're Phillip Rivers, how much money are you throwing at LT to have him say "no" to appearing on the cover next year? One million? Two? A years pay? Think the Marty would pass a hat around the dressing room?
