Oh yeah baby.. what a way to start off the season by spanking the Packers and sending Favre to his first shutout of his career. And to do it in their house is even better! Just like last year, I've included some pics of the game.
I wouldn't get too excited. The Packers are the worst team in the NFL.
The Bears, however, have the best D in the league, bar none. And now they have a passable offense (pun intended). I predict some serious ass-whoppin on the other offenses in the NFC Central. Roy Williams better fear the Bears' safeties as they come from the middle to lay some wood right between the '1' and the '1' on his jersey and below his Texas-sized mouth.
PS: This image is just plain sad. Trying to throw from the ground. I hated Favre early on, but the guy has earned my respect - too bad he didn't play 6 hours south of GB. But, he should have retired 2 years ago. It's painful to see him play like this and get pounded the way he does. Even for a die-hard Bears fan.
Lions - spanked! Roy Williams - bigger mouth than skills. Is he the next TO - or Keyshawn?
I heard some sports' commentators saying that the Bears starting 22 are now the best in all football. OH YEAH!
Fortunately, I didn't see the game. From what I read, I think Roy pulled his weight. It looked like the running game and defense didn't show up this time. Oh well...
I had no problem with the guarantee. The fact that Roy was still talking after the game is kind of pissing me off, though.
Well last I heard when they were interviewing various other Lions about the comments made by Roy before week 2. A lot of them agreed with him on the certainty of victory.
The one scary thing about the Bears is that the running game hasn't done anything yet. Once Thomas Jones gets rolling, they might become the conference favorite. Until then, I like Seattle, Atlanta, New York, and Philly just as much, if not more.
DAMN THAT WAS ONE CLOSE GAME. I THINK THIS ANSWERS A LOT OF QUESTIONS ABOUT GROSSMAN'S CREDIBILITY. WELL WE'VE MANAGED TO BEAT EVERYONE IN THE NFC NORTH. THAT'S A GOOD FEELING =)
LOL jruck! Sad, but true. And I agree, once they get the running game on track, they may rise up to the top echelon of the league. They already have the D in that rare air.
MONDAY MORNING QB:
Bears Season to Date scoring rank:
PF #7 in league
PA #4 in league @ 7.7 ppg
MMQB Commentary: Hmm... after watching their running game flounder and their D front four not have a 'great' day, there is a definite focus for this week's practice.
