What a crappy weekend. I'm so frustrated with the Tigers, that I haven't even looked at the box scores or game recaps from the last couple games. Seeing that they only scored 1 run in each game pretty much sums things up.
It's September 17 and the Tigers are in first place.
I'll take it.
Right now I'm just enjoying the ride.
I do however believe that the Twins will win the division and the Tigers will somehow hold on to the wildcard. The next three games in Chicago are pretty big.

Hey, Jamie. Did you see the game with the Sox last night? Magglio finally came back with two HRs. Rogers pitched great.
I have a question you might be able to answer. Why do they continue to play Sean Casey? The guy flat out sucks. Last night they pitched around Pudge to get to Casey and of course he grounded out to first. The Tigers must have very little confidence in Shelton right now to bat Casey against a left-hander like Buehrle. I read the Detroit papers on-line and none of the reporters talk about how much this guy sucks and shouldn't be playing on a playoff-contending team.
Help me out here.

I don't see a lot of games, so I base my opinions on box scores, highlights, following the game on-line at mlb.com and the Detroit papers. So, I probably am not exactly an expert on the Casey thing...
From what I have seen, Casey plays great defense and in theory is the perfect hitter for the huge gaps in Comerica's outfield. Of course, that doesn't explain why he'd start against Buerhle on the road when he has sucked for the last month.
I guess if everyone of the Tigers batters that has sucked lately got benched, they'd be playing a lot of minor leaguers.
I don't get the Shelton thing. He should be platooning at the very least. I'm still not really certain as to why they sent him down in the 1st place. As much as he had cooled by July, the Tigers didn't really have any depth at 1st.
Also, Neifi Perez should not be starting more than 1 game a week.
I didn't see last night's game, but I did follow it on-line. Maggs and Rogers did what they were brought in to do... Veteran leadership by example. Those 2 guys have been just about the lone bright spots over the past month.
By the way, I think the slump has come to an end. They've been showning signs of actual life on offense for a week now.
That was a huge win. Back-to-back series victories, including at Chicago. l I think they might actually be back to playing well (aside from Tuesday night). It would be nice if the Twins actually lost a game or two this week.
The Tigers and Whitesox both had a nice cushion built by the time the Twins heated up. It's actually kind of shocking that the Sox have fallen off so far. I was much more concerned with them a couple months ago- as I'm sure you were, too.
What was Leyland smoking besides Marlboros today? He gave half his stars the day off in the middle of a pennant race. I know it was only Baltimore, but geez. Hey, good for me.
I saw that! That was the worst freaking line-up in Tiger history. The 2001 Tigers had a stronger line-up than that. And they wasted another quality start from Robertson. That was freaking ridiculous.
Oh, and he batted Casey third again. That's three games in a row he's batted third and he's 0 for 10 with 1 RBI and 10 LOB. I just don't understand. Is Leyland trying to lose this thing????
ARRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
P.S. I hope the Twins lose tonight and everynight after...:p
