Sorry bud. Perhaps if you had come to Richmond.....

One person's bad luck is anothers good fortune. Root for your Joe Gibbs Racing teamate.

On another note, it was a boring event from the stands. It was a breastfest though......

I don't have cable and had to watch it at a crowded bar. I couldn't hear anything because they had the volume for a football game turned up and it seemed like there was a commercial (yeah, same bitching as always) every 20 laps. And every 20 laps at Richmond is like 5 minutes.

It was boring until watching the final few laps. Seeing I had no idea what Benny and the fellows were saying, I had really no idea how close Gordon was to beeing knocked out and how close Stewart ws to getting in. Yeah, they had the points up every lap or so but I wasn't sure of scenarios. But mostly it was boring. The Twins beating the Tigers in a pitching dual was much better.

I didn't realize how close it was for Gordon.... I was scanning some of the drivers and he wasn't one of them. It was the first time sitting up in the middle of turns 1 and 2 (my regular seats are in turn 3), and that was cool. Unfortunately, there wasn't the usual amount of beating and banging.

I wonder if the beating and banging wasn't there because the chasers and the bubblers were playing it conservatively. Or the other drivers giving them space, not wanting to ruin someone's chances, esp if they were out of it.

I hate having nothing but basic cable... had to read about it after the fact. But at least I can be happy that Kahne's 3rd place finish got him into tenth, and the team seems to be on the upswing.

Sorry Nick -- I'm sure we would both have been much more satisfied had Shrub been the one who crapped out.

M-- sounds like your eyes wandered away from the track.

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one that wanted Shrub to choke (or at least leave paint off his car on the wall in front of me).

I'll have to admit that the Tony Stewart fans were the hottest ones last night. You have to appreciate going to a race when it is still relatively warm. (less clothing).

I'm still pulling for Mark to win the championship, although realistically his team is not performing as well as the rest. Kenseth is my choice to take it all.

Cool. We might be rooting for different guys, but we can all be united in our Shrub-hater club. Any Johnson fans around here? We can add him to the sh*t list, too.

It might be wishful thinking on my part, but I think Kahne's got a good shot. The pit crew has been top notch, and he's done well the last couple races so the momentum is there.

In all likelihood, though, it does look like (yawn) Kenseth.

Hey, I'll go for the 5! Or the 48. Or, preferably, the 24!

Not popular choices around here, I know.

I think it would be cool to see Harvick win both series, but also think that Kenseth is just too steady to not win it.

Harvick wins it.

That would be fine with me. I'm still in shock. I stocked up on the "Tony Stewart Limited Edition" bodywash and wore my hat and "visions of a champion" shirt, and nothing. FUCK!

Stewart wins NH and Talladega. I'm also calling that.

Hind-lick wins it all? We'll see.

So, what projects do Zippy and Smoke have going on for the 2 wins? :p

Geez, I knew you liked Gordon -- I can respect that, since he is enormously talented (if a bit of a media darling). But now you're coming out of the closet as a total Hendrick loyalist!

And being a Hendrick loyalist should be punishable by stoning.

Why don't you like Vickers? Too firecrotched?

Well, I thought the question was about winning the Chase. Seeing he's ranked 20th, I don't think he has much of a chance. However, if it came done to Vickers and a guy from Roush or Yates (mostly a manufacturer deal) I'd want Vickers to win, no question. It is a team thing. As soon as Vickers leave to Waltrip's outfit next year, the hell with him.

He's off to team Red Bull.

I'm interested to see how the Garnier Fructis sponsorship works out with Mears because he has a buzzcut.

Johnson AND Shrub start the chase by smacking the wall... it's tempting to use that grin smiley but that would be poor sportsmanship, now, wouldn't it?

What's up with NBC? They put a CHASE race on TNT so they can show informercials on Sunday afternoon? Doesn't make sense. I had to listen to the thing on radio.

You know... I thought the same thing. And had to listen on the radio as well. There should be no races on cable during the chase. Especially if they are worried about competition from the NFL.

Go 24.

LOL. The only way that could have been better is if they ran into each other. Waaaaaait...... the 24 could have piled in for good measure.

It's a Hendick Pileup!!

But then I'd be shaking the radio and yelling because I couldn't see it on TV!

[Sorry, Jim... ]
