I'm so pumped for college to start today. It's cool outside, so I KNOW it's football time. CU opens up today against.....Montana State?!?! Oh man, I hope we don't lose!

Amen to that. We're row 17 on the 50 yardline for all the Mizzou games this year.

Where the hell is the offense? I'm getting a tad bit nervous. But one TD is nothing once this offense gets clicking.

As a Georgia fan I won't say that I want Tech to win but I have felt for several days that they would.

Fight the team across the field,
Show them Ohio's here.
Set the earth reverberating
With a mighty cheer:

Got the W. Not that impressive offensively, but Georgia Tech is an underrated defense and that one lineman and the lineback with all that hair were on fire to start the game. The offense will have to get into high gear in order for the Irish to survive September. I cant wait till next week

N.D. quarterback did not look like a Heisman candidate to me. This team is good but I feel that it will come back to Earth a bit this year.

Brady will come around. Georgia Tech is a VERY aggresive and quick defense and took a lot of risks that were paying off early on in the game. They upset Auburn and Miami last year at each's respective home and held them to a combined 30 points. Quinn led a great drive right before the half to get on the board with a gutsy QB draw call on what would be the last play. Then, after Darius Walker put the Irish up, Weis played ball control. I would have like to see them keep pounding it out, but in a tough road environment,
can't argue with securing the W. This month will tell if he's a real Heisman candidate and if ND is a real national title contender. Penn State and Michigan at home and then at Michigan State. Big tests coming up ahead.

FSU just sealed the victory against Miami with a local product from Don Bosco Prep Michael Ray Garvin picking off a deflected pass.

D'OH!!!!!!!!

And Kev - I think GT's defense is mediocre at best. Notre Dame is going to face MUCH better defenses, and is going to have to figure out what to do then. They'll come around, but I don't think GT's defense was top notch at all.

They're definitely not the best that Notre Dame will face, but they were very agressive and they're quick. The pressure they brought at the start of the game obviously threw off the ND offense. Tech can play great defense. They started off last season holding Auburn to 14 points at Auburn and later upset Miami at Miami holding them to 10 points. Granted, they also got their asses handed to them by the likes of Virginia Tech (51) and Utah (38) but they can play solid defense. Brady will have to get back into gear for this weekends game against Penn State.

On another note, I was happy to see ND's defense finally do something decent, shutting down Calvin Johnson in the 2nd half. They still let Reggie Ball run, but they're getting better. Ndukwe's hit to break up that long pass to Calvin Johnson was sweet.

Good, hard fought battle gainst a quality team IMO is better than a blowout against North Texas or a push over like that, even thought CU's pushover team pushed 'um right back :p

I agree that a win against GT is much better than North Texas, it's good to see someone actually playing a team that can hold their own. And I agree that GT is a good defense, but my point is that Notre Dame can't hang their hat on that - USC is a MUCH better defense, and they'll have to figure out some issues (which Charlie probably already has figured out) with the offense. I'm sure they'll be fine, but if they aren't, teams like USC, Penn State, Purdue, and Michigan will show them a thing or two. Brady and Charlie will get it figured out.

Because of their fans.

Because they are chronically rated at least 5-15 spots higher than they should be, as if TV $$s are a part of rankings.

Because Lou Holtz was clinically insane.

But mostly, because of their fans.

Amazingly, I hardly hear a peep from ND fans in Indy. They're more abundant in Chicago and Detroit.

Can't wait to go to the CSU-CU game this weekend at Invesco. The Montana State game will give us more fuel for CU fan harrasment.

My predicted score
Rams 172
Buffs 3

But then again, I'm biased
