It's going to be a great series! First off, it's in Minnesota, where the Twins can't lose. Gardy has also shuffled the rotation so Liriano (rookie of the year?), Radke (prone to being hit early- but if not, watch out for that changeuo) , and Santana (as good as they come) get the starts.
In the first game Miner is starting for Detoit. He hasn't been as effective in his last few starts (though he hasn't lost, I don't think) and was shelled against the A's on Saturday. In game 2 Robertson gets the nod. He's been giving up the long ball as of late and the Twins have really been knocking the cover off the ball. I'm worried about Bonderman, but he's no Contreras, whom the Twins just beat.
The Twins will take game 1 with Liriano striking out 12. The Tigers may take game 2 if they can get to Radke early. That will be a high scoring game. It's lights out in game 3. The Twins will chase Bonderman early and Santana will pitch a complete game shutout.
The Twins will take two out of three and this will mark the beginning of the Tigers' slide into third place. They haven't had an extended losing streak yet this year and it's bound to happen.
These are just the narrow-minded rantings of a complete Twins fanatic and I can't be held responsible for the consternation they may cause.
It is going to be a great series. The Tigers aren't bringing their best three pitchers. I would like to see the Twins face Verlander.
Miner does seem to be losing his effectiveness. Robinson can be effective and so can Bonderman. The Twins are really hot. I will be happy to see the Tigers get out with one win. Although I don't think the Tigers will be sliding into third place anytime soon. They have enough pitching to do well the rest of the season.
I hate that freakin' dome and I know the Tigers do, too.

You're right about Bonderman, Jim. He is no Contreras... He's better!
The Twins are awesome at home. The best part about this series is that if the Tigers get swept (which I don't expect), they'll still have a 5 1/2 game lead. I've never experienced baseball prosperity like this.
Ugh. At least they salvaged one. A waste of a great effort by Liriano in game one, a waste of a dominent effort by Bonderman in game 3.
I predicted 12 K's for Liriano in game 1 and that's what he got. No way the Twins should lose that game.
Radke got hit early in game two, like I was afraid of. The Twins tried to comeback but their normally strong bullpen kind of let them down.
Well, it wasn't Bonderman getting chased early in game 3, but Santana. Bonderman put in the performance I had hoped Johan would have. Absolutely dominating. The Twins just got all their breaks for the series in the bottom of the 8th this game.
What a wacky game. I actually expected the Twins to take 2 of 3 this weekend. I didn't see it, but I was following along on-line. It looked like the Tigers just melted down in the 8th. Oh well, 2 out of 3 will work all year. Good series!

Hey, now. That's my kid's little league team hat. I was the manager (27-1 over 2 seasons). I'm from Detroit originally, currently residing the brutally hot city of Greenville, SC, which happens to be Braves country. Therefore, I pull for the Tigers (Detroit, not Clemson) in the AL and the Braves in the NL. :p

Amazingly, I adopted the Braves as my NL team, too. John Smoltz is from my home town (Warren, MI), so I adopted them as my NL team when I was a kid. It probably didn't hurt, at the time, that they were beginning their run of excellence, while the Tigers were beginning their run of crappiness.
I live and breathe Braves baseball. I still have faith that they can win the wildcard. And if they don't, they'll get ripped on for only having won 14 straight Division titles. Ho-hum.
