Default The British Open Golf

Tomorrow sees the start of the most prestigious golf tornament in the world; the British Open. This year it’s played at an unknown quantity… Hoylake (Royal Liverpool). Who’s your money on?

I’ll be going on Sat and Sunday as it’s only 30 mins from my house (Royal Birkdale is a ten minute walk!!)

Personally I think it may be Harrington or Donald, all the experts reckon the course is set up for Woods to romp home by some distance. I know Mickleson really wants to win it; he charted a private jet last week to make an unannounced visit, played two rounds and flew back to the US all in the same day.

Have fun, Neil! It looks like Tiger is back to his dominant form after a hiccup at the U.S. Open.

A very good day at the Open, I saw some wonderful shots played. The good weather has been a blessing in terms of spectators, however, i'd like to see how the big names would get on with a windy course.

I had to pay full price to get in as i'm no longer a student (£50/$93) but I had a great day so can't complain too much.

Below are two picture, one of me (and a cheat beer) at the 15th and the other is the leaderboad after the last group of the 3rd day.

Should be a really good final day, although I'll may stay at home and watch it on the telly. Hopefully Garcia will win it but i'll also be willing Di Marco on as he impressed me today

Woods was awesome. And Faldo and Zinger were pretty entertaining.

Great tournament. Lots of good players in contention. Tiger played well and deserved it.
