Default NBA Draft Tonight: Predictions?

As a HARDCORE Celtics fan I am preping for the Draft tonight. I have the night off of work and I have a 2-liter bottle of Diet Root Beer.

Right now there are a few rumors around the Celtics.

1. Trading Wally and Al Jefferson and 1st round pick to Phili , LaFrenz to Utah, Iverson goes to the Celtics and someone from Utah goes to Phili.

2. Al Jefferson, Lafrenz, 1st Round pick to Timberwolves for Kevin Garrnet.

3. Also the Celts may just draft a PG, possibly Marcus from Uconn.

How about everyone else?

This seems like a weak draft so we may see many trades.

Which scenario would you prefer?

It would be kind of interesting to see how AI and Pierce would mesh on the court. I've always thought that AI could be a very good distributor if he trusted his teammates... and if he can't trust Paul Pierce, he really can't trust anyone.

Also, I don't think that's nearly enough to get KG... especially considering that he and Wally didn't always mesh as teammates.

I think a trade with Portland is more likely. I've read something about Dickau and the 7th pick for Telfair- who would be a better option than Williams or Rondo, in my opinion.

I would like to see how AI and Pierce do, especially since Pierce said he was excited at the prospect when he heard the possibility.

The KG deal was going to be a 3 team deal with wally going to Utah I think.

I don't want telfair to be honest. Still looks like a bad attitude kind of player from what I saw/heard. I would rather get Marcus from UCONN, rather have a chanpion.

I don't know about draft picks but KG needs to move on!!! I vote for Houston since San Antonio is probably out of the question.

Q... What are the Spurs going to do at the 5 spot? They already traded Rasho, and from what I hear, Nazr is on his way out. Might they be regressing a little bit?

Also Shawn Marion with Barbosa is rumored to go to either Seatle for Lewis and Fortson.

Also the same deal is mentioned with Marion going to the celtics.

The best part of the NBA draft is the rumors. I have read a lot about Barbosa and Marion being on the block, though. I'm not quite sure why. They were both awesome this year. I really feel like the Suns would be the favorites next year if they just brought everyone back and added a piece or two... especially with Amare coming back.

What do you think about that trade? I'd rather have Foye if I were you.

They've sucked at the 5 spot since Robinson left. Rasho would be a decent back up but not a starter. Nazr had NO HANDS from the day he started playing with the Spurs... I didn't see him previously. Personally, I think this has been their Achilles heal... well, maybe not the only one... but I've heard talk of Duncan playing more 5 because of it. Not good. He can do it but he needs another significant big to compete.

I like it. Telfair is a somewhat proven player and a "pure PG." So in the end this might be best for the Celts.

It will be interesting to see how the AI talks continue. Especially since I love Delonte West so much. WIth Telfair and AI in Boston he would be the odd man out.

I think I read a headline that they were staying put but I didn't read it.

I would love to get that pair to the Celtics, perfect for the system they are building there.

there is more talent on the NJ nets bench than this draft class.

D'Antoni said last night that they are.

Kevin- I like Delonte, too. Apparently, Ainge does not. Maybe he would trade him to Detroit!

The good thing for the Celtics is that this opens up more playing time for your young bigs (Jefferson and Perkins). I think the Celtics have a bright future.

Steve- I think this class was actually pretty deep. It probably doesn't have a superstar in it, but I think the Top 9 guys or so will be pretty good players. I also think some of the guys at the back of the 1st round (Marcus Williams, Shannon Brown, Ager) will be solid, too.

Danny says he loves Delonte, and was excited to draft him. I think he would stay on the team but would be a sixth man. Not a bad sixth man to have. He could come in for AI or Telfair.

You still think AI is a possibility? I'm not so sure. I get the feeling that Rondo + Telfair = Bye, bye Delonte.

I think there is a 75% chance AI comes to boston, Ainge really wants to get him here.

So do the owners. Right there the celtics would sell out twice as many games as last year.

Looks like Telfair is just going to be part of the trade for AI, thats what I am hearing today. So it will be like telfair, jefferson, green, scalabrine for AI and someone else.

That might be interesting. AI and Delonte would make for a versatile (if not small) backcourt. With Tony Allen also in the mix, they'd have some nice flexibility and athleticism.

Iverson with the Celtics, now that could be interesting.

If they traded Jefferson in the AI deal, they'd have zero depth inside. I'm also not sure how well an AI/Delonte backcourt can keep opposing wings out of the paint.
