I'm running in the Detroit Marathon on Sunday, Oct 23 and the weather report is calling for 48 degrees and rain, what do I wear?

26 miles in the rain, probably 3 to 4.5 hours, you are going to get wet. Synthetic fiber will not hold moisture, and some of the new high-tech may help with retaining body heat. You may also want to research methods to prevent chaffing. Don’t forget to take care of the toenails.

Try a technical long shirt. Walmart has generic Under Armour, that works great. Cheap synthetic shorts will work fine, just wear sweatpants or track pants over them while warming up and whip them off before the race start.

Rod- I ran the 1/2 marathon on Sunday... How'd you do?

By the way guys, the weatherman was wrong. It couldn't have been more perfect.

The weatherman was way wrong in such a good way.
We finished in 4 hrs 30 minutes. We'll be back next year.

Good stuff, man. I finished the 1/2 in 2:14- a little slower than I expected, but no too bad overall.

How'd you like the finish line on the football field? As a lifelong Lions fan, that was pretty awesome!

That was pretty cool. I'm also a Lions fan, born and raised in Lansing before moving to upstate NY. My daughter still lives in Michigan so that's why we chose the Detroit Marathon. She ran the half marathon last year and talked me into the marathon this year. It was great crossing the finish line holding hands with her.
