Cool

Yay! I ran my first half-marathon yesterday. Although I ran a blistering 10:12 split and finished in 2:13:33, I came in 675th place and 121 out of 129 in my age group.

Seriously, I am pleased to have 1) done it at all; 2) completed the race without stopping, even when my knees were killing me and I really wanted to stop and/or walk; and 3) not finished dead last.

I was hoping to get some sort of endorphin high out of the race, but I dont think it happened. Maybe I'll need to work my way to a full marathon ....

Good job, ReadyDad. Getting through your first run of that length is a major achievement.

If you want to build to a full marathon, you can certainly do it. I think it's harder to go from no running at all to running 13.1 miles than it is to keep extending those long distances out.
