Anyone else notice simularities in between program designs?

5-6 days a week possible
3-5 optimal
low rep\sprint=power
mid range=overall
hi rep\long= recovery and\or endurance

Maintaining a relative amount of intensity\volume per day\week to maintain optimal gains.

Yea, i think those guidelines apply to many sorts of training. Running and lifting being the predominant forms we think of. Just how our bodies work and improve most efficiently, good to point out though, because i've definately got friends who run every day, more than they should, harder then they should, and complain about losing muscle/endurance/etc.

From what I can tell, most of the really competitive long distance runners who only run or do little cross-training run 6-7 days per week. I often wonder whether that really is optimal for them...

Call this my prediction...but I believe we're going to see a trend in the lifting community to lift more often, 5-6 days a week, for optimal strength\endurance.

It'll be difficult to set up originally, and very tricky to maintain...BUT it can be done and if done properly would stress\force maximal CNS\muscular responce (just like in runners )

Of course I could be full of shit too, so who knows. But look at many true atheletes and a lot of them train very frequently and often for long durations. For some reason that's an enourmous taboo in our community...but MARK MY WORDS!!!

toooo much coffee....awww gawd I'm gonna die...
