Question

This may sound like a really stupid question but, it was just something I was thinking about. Can the size of your nostrils/nasal cavities or w/e their called affect your performance when you run because it could affect how much air you are inhaling. Just wondering.

I wouldn't think a great deal since most of your air is likely coming thru your mouth.

Well, its said the most efficient approach when running is to keep your mouth slightly open enough to be able to comfortably breathe from it, but not so much that it prevents air from entering through the nasal cavity as well. Try it out while your sitting there, to breathe from your mouth and nose, its a real subconscious thing too. Its sopposed to improve air quality/circulation or something, im really not sure, but makes sense. And if you want to get really nit picky, it requires less muscles (primarily parts of your jaw and face) to breathe like such as opposed to having your mouth gaping open or shut(when shut, we tend to press our lips more firmly over time).

I also read that smiling while you run, instead of grimmacing like your see track athletes, will increase performance too. By into what you want, in the end, its what you put in, that you can work with to get in return, get the big things before the little ones( and who knows if theyre fact or theory.)
